Show more

The Krkonose Mountains also called "The Giant Mountains" are the highest mountains in the Czech Republic. Despite quite a low altitude (about 1500 m) they have many Alps-like characteristics thanks to their location. This guide leads you along the main crest, the central-east part from Spindle. Start from Spindleruv Mlyn and return over Vrbatova. There are wonderful views along the way - you'll visit the spring of the European river Labe (Elbe) and meet interesting historical points, where the skiing sport was born in Bohemia.Show more

As of 08.2020, the original route is not completely accessible. The approximately 3-kilometer detour is signposted with green signs. The descent is quite steep and requires surefootedness.Show more
