#5 - Krkonose: Snezne Jamy
Špindlerův Mlýn, Hradec Králové, Czech RepublicLength: 18.6 mi • Est. 9 h 48 m
The Krkonose Mountains also called "The Giant Mountains" are the highest mountains in the Czech Republic. Despite quite a low altitude (about 1500 m) they have many Alps-like characteristics thanks to their location. This guide leads you along the main crest, the central-east part from Spindle. Start from Spindleruv Mlyn and return over Vrbatova. There are wonderful views along the way - you'll visit the spring of the European river Labe (Elbe) and meet interesting historical points, where the skiing sport was born in Bohemia.
