Very beautiful walking trail. It was crowded when we went but absolutely breathtaking and worth the visit.

on Central Zagreb

It was fun to spend time and walk through the central Zagreb area including this trail during the week of Christmas 12/24-12/30. I enjoyed the Zagreb Christmas markets and the culture.

The west side of lake Proscansco starting from 44.853228,15.589275 towards north is off-trail and packed with bushes, branches, fallen trees, .... It looks like this part used to be an actual trail in the past but it's not maintained at all now and I don't recommend hiking in that part of the trail. The rest of the trail is nice.

Hiked this trail in early October; great way to get away from the crowds in Dubrovnik. Early part of the trail is smooth, with some tree cover. Trail changes a little over 1/3 the way up, to a combo of large rocks/small rocks as the main bed of the trail, with no tree cover. Excellent hike for a cooler time of year.

Simply Stunning. Cant get much better (if only you could swim!). Spent the whole day hiking around the beautiful bodies of water and plenty of places to stop and take in the views of crystal clear lakes and an abundance of waterfalls!

Difficulty : Moderate, fairly basic with a few rough patches, being around a lake majority of the hike is flat, but once you get to the upper pools/waterfalls it can be steep and un-even.

Amazing group of waterfalls, very populated with tourists but worth it especially when you get a place to yourself, I would prefer Plitvice National Park over Krka, but it is definitely a place to see. Its awesome able to swim with such a beautiful and famous waterfall in your face!

Difficulty : Easy, a largely flat and boardwalk with a few stairs and a bit of a hill, but everyone who can walk should be able to complete this with ease.

This is a hard, high-climbing hike starting from the hills above Bol, in Croatia. You'll climb almost 900m in a rocky path frequently exposed to the sun. Make sure to bring head cover, sunscreen and plenty of water (1.5L per person).

Took the cable car up and walked the trails down. Today is sunny, and the views were amazing. Being an aged hiker, I normally prefer easy near flat terrains or going downhills on good established trails and this one is ok ( I hv done some trails that is also strenous to go downhill)

Amoung the best places for doing overnight, hiking and exploring the area.

Beautiful. Busy but it wasn’t so busy for us as we came in early September

Fantastic Roman historic site. Oddly situated in a residential/industrial area. Well worth seeing if you're in the area.

Loved our day spent here. Beyond beautiful.

We hiked the “E” trail because we arrived in the afternoon - it’s a 2-3 hour hike. Absolutely beautiful - hard to describe with words. A wonderland of flowing water, waterfalls, crystal clear blue water. Worth any time you can spend there. We hope to return some day to hike the whole area - an 8-9 hour experience. We hiked barefoot even on the wooden walkways. Otherwise, good shoes are recommended. We parked in parking lot 2 and started our trail after a short boat ride across the lake.

Extremely photogenic park with a variety of hiking trails. We hiked programme "K" which was about 11 miles long. Get to the park early to avoid the crowds that peak in the afternoon. Very nice park with a relatively short hiking loop. At the end of the hike you can go swimming at the base of the large waterfall! Here is my trip report with pictures and maps: https://backpackersreview.wordpress.com/trip-reports/croatia-national-parks/

Beautiful view!! It was a sunny day and we had some problem locating the trail head as we navigate around some local streets and asked for help. Glad we did this trail. We debated whether we should just take the cable car up. Definitely a must go trail in this area. Do bring enough water for a warm day as a big portion of trail was exposed to strong sun. Wear proper footwear will help. Uneven trail with rocks and pebbles. But the view is amazing. It took 3 of us about an hour up with some stopping for pictures. If you are fast hiker, you can do it in 30 to 40 mins. At the top you can get drink and ice cream, etc or have a snack or meal at the restaurant at the top. We ended up taking the cable car down as it was getting dark by the time we finished our visit. We enjoyed and recommended this trail.

Wow. Wow. Wow!! If you’re in Croatia, this is a definite must. There are plenty of bus day tours to the park from Split and Zagreb, but I highly recommend spending the night at one of the many nearby chalet-style BandBs. The valley is GORGEOUS and will give you the time to explore the park at your leisure (and also see Slunj!).

I parked and began at entrance 1, doing the entire perimeter of the lakes including the upper lakes (the upper lakes aren’t included in the AllTrails map). This added up to 10-11 miles (ignore my recording; I somehow accidentally deleted my recording mid-trail), but 85% of the path is flat so easy-peasy. Don’t worry: you still earn your beer reward at the end! It took me six hours at a pretty leisurely pace with lots of breaks to take it all in and a ton of photo stops (thank Gawd film is a thing of the past).

Some tips:

- Absolutely start when the park opens (8am spring/fall; 7am summer). Why? Because of those “plenty of bus day tours” I mentioned. The park gets crowded, quick, and you want to jet ahead of the (annoying) single-file lines of tourists taking selfies.

- Wear hiking boots if you have them. You’ll be thankful for the extra grip and carefree slogging through the mud on the legit “K” trail portions.

- Pack your own food! There are a couple places along the paths to pick up coffee and grab a bite to eat, but it’s over-priced and low quality. Besides, you’ll want to picnic here.

- I did (and most do) the path counterclockwise. I read that going in reverse can give you some extra solitude, but I have to tell you... going against the crowds seemed worse than following in line.

- Enjoy! This is one of the most pristine places on earth!

Excellent and easy walk in a beautiful forest with lakes with pure and transparent water.
The walk as many direction signs and some information signs about fauna and flora.
My son with 6 years made it, it’s very easy .
At the end there are beautiful waterfalls where you can swim (it was a little crowded in August) but I went to water :)
You have to pay to enter the park and you have a bus to take to entrance.

On the right side of the trail many parts are flooded so be prepared to climb a bit if you don’t want to get wet.

Excellent trail for everyone to enjoy the water, waterfalls and the leaves color at fall time. Most shady and well marked for directions. Shuttle bus and boat riding are great services. Strongly recommended for any level of physical conditions.

Incredible views, try to avoid the tourist groups as they are very slow moving. Make sure you bring a raincoat!

Water falls everywhere! Very busy though

Absolutely stunning waterfalls, its an easy loop. There are options along the hike that may be considered moderate, at the time we did this hike my son was three and we had our dog with us.
We went first thing in the morning for most of our time there was only a few other people. We spent the whole day exploring all the separate trails.

An simple switchback up the hill that provides an amazing view of the old city and surrounding area. There is a museum in the old fortress at the top and if you don't want to walk down you can take a cable car.

Visited the national park three days ago. Really beautiful hike with the magnificent views at all time . You can take many different routes depending on the time allowed and and fitness level. There are hiking trails available for advanced hikers as well near the entrance 2.
