Very easy. Would recommend to all ages (as long as you are in decent physical health). Well maintained and popular trail - expect crowds of friendly strangers

This trail was BEAUTIFUL! It was a great way to spend time with your family. My suggestion is, if you have a baby, bring something to put them in for the hike up and down.

We took the red trail which had a shorter version. Rocky trail and steep sections

Nice well made and safe - easy hike can finish in less than 2 hours even if you take your time to see the wild life and all

Great trail! The jungle part is really cool and saw a bunch of weird birds and lizards. Also enjoyed the lava fields and the tall grass. We went on a cloudy day but still saw a lot of arenal . It was also hot so bring lots of water

Trail is short and all stairs down- it’s worth swimming down there in the fall base. The water is refreshing

Great hike with the view of the mountain and the lake Check out the video of the hike I made: https://youtu.be/gwiz110MzIk

Great hike. You can go on the hike even if you are not staying at the hotel there. Cost us $12 per person to get in. There are several trail options of different lengths. We did the observation tower loop first. Very tall tower about 10 stories high. Lots of stairs. Then we hiked to the waterfall. Lovely and you are allowed to swim there. They have a couple of beautiful bridges. Circling back was on some rather boring roads. I’d rather treat it like an out and back once you cross the 2 main bridges

Great trail with great views of both the volcano as well as lake Arenal. We did the longer hike which includes the forest and lake loop and then the volcanic rock portion as well. As with all parks in this part of Costa Rica there is an entrance fee. The took credit cards. It is rocky and has some steep climbs at times. Took us 2 1/2 hours but we stop and take a lot of pictures too

Part of the $15 Arenal ecológica park. Asked guide if 2 hours would do it. We were at top at the end in 35 minutes as we did the wide path meant for cars. No animals. Great bird sounds. Cloud cover over Arenal. Running. G shoes or chacos suffice.

Very scenic, nice views of the volcano and well maintained. There is a fee but worth it. It rained on and off so I would recommend a light rain jacket. Most of the trail is pretty easy with the exception right before the lava fields.

Very nice trail, especially when you get to the lava rocks section. Easy trail unless you have some disability that affects walking on uneven terrain / rocks. Otherwise really just a nice walk with a few muddy sections to get around if it’s pouring (as it was for us). Worth the hike, even on a day that doesn’t have a clear view of the volcano. It’s been 4 days of constant rain for us with no sign on sun, and we still thoroughly enjoyed this trail- nothing serious.

Nice trail with views of Arenal Volcano and lake

The waterfall is stunning! The amount of water falling over the cliff side was enough to dampen people sitting on the rocks. The “hike” was a straight up and down staircase. Many sitting opportunities and even water in between sets of stairs.

This was a fantastic find. We are avid hikers that prefer off the beaten path hikes. We got here around 12:00, opted for a non-toured hike ($26 per person), and hit the trail. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space and privacy we had while hiking despite a full parking lot! We saw multiple monkeys and pit vipers. The hanging bridges are exactly as advertised - stunning!!
