I took the Tsushima Brook trail up and came down the Brave man steps, and I’m glad I did! The route is almost entirely stone steps up or down until the overlook area, which is a huge plaza. I took the road down.

Really fun climb, but very tough in the heat, take lots of water! Also the map here says the route is 10km but the route I take is more like 16km. I think thats because whoever made the map took the cable car half way up.

I had a free morning, while in Minhang District of Shanghai. Rather than wait around in my hotel for my colleagues to pick me up for afternoon meetings, I decided to find someplace with a bit of green. The area of Minhang where this trail network is located, is truly an unsightly, urban area of soulless light industrial complexes and streets full of heavy traffic. I found this green zone by looking at local maps. It was a considerable walk in the sweltering humidity of this Shanghai summer morning, but it was well worth the effort.

At first, I was truly amazed that I had been frequently visiting Minhang for a decade, and had never heard of this wetland area. But then some locals explained to me that it was a new nature development area that has not been open very long. In any case, the water flowers in the lake gardens are AWESOME! They were impossibly beautiful! The trails surrounding the lake are also topnotch. They are spotless, with full-time caretakers managing them. There is a nice balance between lakeside paths, wooden walkways, and forest paths that meander through lush forests and across streams and bridges.

There is an interesting network of trails that weave through this lovely green area, so that one could spend the better part of an afternoon walking them. I would guess that there are probably 3 miles or so of linear trails in the network. Although this is probably not a destination for a serious hiker looking for intercourse with primal nature, it is certainly a nice walk for anyone in the area, and worth a visit.

I clocked 7.9 miles on my pedometer roundtrip to my hotel, and dripping wet with sweat and humidity by the time I got back. I smiled for the rest of the day, and kept thinking about the beautiful flowers during my boring afternoon meetings.

I was in Beijing for the weekend, so I took a few friends to visit the Summer Palace. I've been here multiple times, and different times of the year. I must say that if you plan to visit the Summer Palace, the best time to do it is NOT in the summer. Everybody else will have the same idea. There are LOT'S of people who visit in the summer.

If you visit, make sure to have your transportation to and from the palace arranged beforehand. You will not be able to catch a taxi anywhere near this place!

Plan on getting some walking done at the Summer Palace. There is a scenic lake, with lots of historic buildings. Read up on the history of it before visiting, to maximize your visit. I logged about 4 miles of walking here today - much of it on stairs.

If you visit Beijing, this is a must-see area of this historic city. Both the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are VAST! Prepare for some walking! I clocked eight miles walked today. It was a rainy day, and those are the perfect kind of days to visit the heart of China. The crowds are gone, and the beauty is yours to behold!

Great views. Tough to take photos with all the people who frequent the site.

If you get the chance to hike the Great Wall (especially on a rare blue-sky day), you do it. 10/10 amazing.

Excellent weekend getaway. Not over developed. Nice little retreat from the busy city life.

This is one of the best hiking in Shenzhen. It is close to the city and offers unbeatable view to Shenzhen and Hongkong.

This trail is rather easy. One can say there is nothing spetacular about it. However, the waterfalls and the ponds in the area make the trip worthwhile. Beijing lacks wather and waterfalls.

very intesting. it combines the historical artifacts with outdoor activity. highly recommend.

I have been to both shangchuan and xiachuan islands. They are much less developed than Hawaii, usa. But that is exactly the Beaty of it. Hardly any English speakers been there, except missionaries centuries ago. Be there first.

This is my favorite hike in Shenzhen. It is very close to the city. It offers the best view of Shenzhen and Shenzhen bay. Reminds me of viewing vancourver,Canada from the goose montain.

The road is paved. Be sure to have sun block if you hike during the day. It gets cooler at the top of the mountain. Take thicker coat if you stay over night. Camp is allowed near Tianci area.

This route is the classical route in huizhou peninsula. Natural elements, marine life, long sandy beaches, historical relics, and great seafood.

it's a very nice trip
