Nice trail past the typical San Ramon route. The waterfall at the end is quite nice. It’s out and back. Can be very dry in the summer months.

Make sure you look up the details for this trail on the official site. Just got back from a good hike, but didn’t make it all the way up to the top because they turned us around at noon! If you’re not within two hours of the top at 11:00 am (!!), they won’t let you go up to the top. And if you don’t get to the top by 1:00 pm, they’ll turn you around. If that doesn’t seem a little bit absurd, remember that the sun isn’t going to set tonight until after 8 pm. Apparently there have been some accidents on the mountain and the response by the park has been a bit heavy handed. Still a great place to hike (think Arizona), but start by 9 or so if you want to actually see the waterfall. Also, the updated cost is 3,000 pesos (5 USD).

Day hike up trough the valley to the campsite. Their I did a little loop to the adjoining valleys and gletsjers before heading back over the same trail. A couple parts have been washed away by water, so you have to climb over some rocky and gravel areas. Be carefull the gravel parts are very slippery. But the views were awesome!!
