The trail begins at km 5 of the international route 225-CH in the Los Lagos Region, along the farmers' roads slowly uphill, with beautiful landscapes. Please close the simple “gates” after passing to prevent undesired movement of cattle.Show more

NOTE: This route crosses the border between Chile and Argentina, so you must have all the necessary documentation to go from one country to the other. The trek takes several days and can be done starting both from Chile towards Argentina (Pampa Linda town) and vice versa. The route crosses the Vuriloche, Bariloche, or Tronador Pass and was used approximately in the 17th century by the Jesuit missionaries. Currently, it is rather used by the locals and can only be crossed on foot or on horseback. On the Chilean side, a large part of the route is included in the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, on the Argentina side, a small section that is part of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Without a doubt, it is an incredible journey through landscapes with abundant forest, rivers, lakes, and Patagonian mountain reliefs and in some parts the trail is not so clearly defined so be careful!Show more
