Nice gentle walk

There is a hill from the parking lot to get to the trail.

Park hours are from 7 am to 11 pm.

While easy to follow, the trail is a little bit overgrown. There is little scenic reward and the spring itself is not remarkable and not easy to view either.

A pleasant walk in the woods; well-marked and well-maintained.

Great short hike with a variety of terrain. close to the core area so you can get an ice cream after the hike.

This trail takes you through some native prairie on the top of the Cypress Hills. There are some spectacular viewpoints to the west end. Parts of the hike pass through active pastureland, so close encounters with cattle are certainly possible. Recommended to hike early or late in the day, to avoid the scorching prairie heat. Late day excursions offer some pretty spectacular sunsets.

A short hike through lodgepole pines, offering some nice views down into the surrounding valleys

This trail is a short easy hike near the Cypress Hills town site. Parts of it are paved and heavily trafficked, while others diverge from the main path, where you can find a bit more solitude.

After awhile, this trail crosses a clearcut, where we lost the trail. As a result, we decided to take the fire road back to near the beginning of the trail, thereby completing the loop. Later, we back-hiked from the terminus to see where the trail was supposed to continue. Turns our that when you get to the fire road, the trail continues across the road, to the right, where we chose to follow the road to the left. We didn't rehike to add this detail to our recording, but we did build a small cairn (pictured) to help future hikers find the path.
