Great winter trail

Belle petite montagne avec deux points de vue au sommet. En hiver, le début de la trail est difficile à trouver.

Did this trail in winter. You have to walk on the road for 5km before climbing on the trail. It give you nice views!
Did it until rhe first point of view and then go back down.
If you have some energy continue until km18 and go back from the trail on the orher side of the river!
19.5 km in 5h30! Great experience!

I had planned to snowshoe but the trail was too packed down. Instead I hiked with poles - was difficult but very pretty. Some very steep sections where I wished I had cleats.

Nice trail (avg time : 3-4hrs) but way too many people at the time I went.

Beautiful views, nice trail. Rated very difficult by the national park, but moderate is more realistic.

Best place close to Montreal for snowshoeing! Take the little detour to Lake Spruce before going up to the to! Amazing views up there!
Took a bit more than 3hours for the out and back!

Amazing challenging trail. Beautiful scenery.

Me and my husband had a great time...its a nice trail..the view on the top is amazing....

I love this Trail (in every season!!) Two amazing lookouts (and very different), the sounds of small streams running through a beautiful forest... with a variety of levels of difficult throughout the Trail. It’s about 8.5km total, I think. I recommend turning RIGHT at the fork (near the beginning of the Trail head), to aim towards Mahingan Lookout first. It’s a steep uphill climb for 2km from there. Then a shorter easier 2k walk to the next Lookout, and then a gradual and longer 3.5km walk back to the Trailhead. I also recommend going for both summer hiking and winter hiking(or snowshoeing in my case) to see how awesome but different the landscape is!

J’aime bien ce sentier , c’est près de chez moi et très intermédiaire ! Lorsque je n’ai pas le temps ou l’occasion d’aller plus loins je choisi l’éperon c’est un sentier passe partout selon moi .

Always a pleasant walk with the dogs. hiden trails are fun to explore and away from the crowds.

Very enjoyable route for snowshoeing. Some steep slopes that are challenging in winter but the varied terrain makes for a rewarding route that travels through different patches of forest and open field. There is also a fire pit and wood available at Lac Carman should a rest be needed.

Connects with a number of other snowshoeing trails to the north and south.

One of the best trails in Gatineau park. Great views along the Ottawa valley at the half-way point really add to an already enjoyable walk through the forest. Crosses a few streams and can therefore be wet at times - be prepared!

Vraiment super beau au sommet .

I like hiking on this trail for elevation gained similar to many high peaks in ADK NY. It’s good for preparing before heading to high peaks.

bonne distance pour une petite randonnée.

Great hike!

Paysage Magnifique !! Très belle randonnée

Sentier facile et bien balisé. Glacé par endroit en début d'hiver.

We’ve completed this hike twice now, and both times enjoyed it. This year was a little snowy, so hiking was slower, but still very beautiful views. If you’re hiking the ridge to the Grand Manitou Lodge/Gondola to get down, it’s fully open and you’re on the ski slopes - very miserable if the snow machines are on.

Some areas are a bit dull, but I'm a big fan of the viewpoint payoff at the top, absolutely gorgeous.

Not the best hike in this amazing Park, but still well worth it and.

Beautiful view points at some spots. Can be done on a day trip from Quebec city.
