trail running

If you are a tourist, please don't take this trail. I take the bus down Sherbrooke St. every day to go to work and it is not a pretty view & it's a very busy street. Use bus/metro if you want to visit the Olympic stadium/gardens; don't waste your precious time walking this stretch. S-Transit app will help you get around.

If you prefer to take a stroll, I'd recommend either the Old Port, Mile End, or the Plateau.

Great views from the lookout. A truly quintessential Montreal walking trail.

Pretty good city trail

Gorgeous views!! Spent a few hours walking around. Really loved it!!

Not so easy if you take the stairs... but oh my god, Montreal in front of me.. just, wow!

Pleasant and easy walk. Beatiful forest in the middle of the city. Nice view above downtown at the belvedere. The park was design by Frederick Olmsted, the same landscape architect who design Central Park in New York city.

Beautiful park, love the tam tam’s on Sunday’s all summer long

Hey can anyone tell me where the starting point of this hike is ?!

Great urban walk. Plenty of great architectural gems along the way!

Always a pleasant walk with the dogs. hiden trails are fun to explore and away from the crowds.

Busy on weekends but great views of the city.

Great laid back walk. Love this city.

Easy hike...can almost run up if you're feeling ambitious. Pretty views of the city at the top...watch out for the selfie sticks

Beautiful view at top, you can take an expedited way up that isn't 3.7 miles or whatever it says, it pretty much steps right up the side of the mountain. Often there are vendors up there with water or ice cream. There is also a piano for people to play, which is an amazing idea I discovered in multiple places on my travels throughout Canada. Sitting on a bench looking out at the city with music in the background is something else.

Great hike - 400 steps and difficult after a day of walking the city, but well worth the view at the top!

This is a very good park to walk in. I went to the Chalet and it was NOT easy. It is also very cold the higher we went. Take your time, you will get there. The pay off is a beautiful view. gorgeous.

Great view of the entire city of Montreal. I took a bus to the top in this one because I was very short on time during my stay in Montreal and wanted to see the other touristic points. I did a scenic walk around Mt.Royal park. I also recommend Parc Jean-Drapeau which is on an island. All you have to do is take the subway to the island. On this island you can ride a bike or jog on many trails.

Great ride, close from Montreal, cant get better!

The Mont-Royal is easily accessible (20 to 30 minutes walk from the downtown) and provives a widely developped network of trails to be in the forest (mostly hardwood but also some evergreen). The view on the belvedere, on top of the mountain, is one of the best overlooking Montréal. You can bring your dog on leach..., You can bike to the top, cross country and skate in winter..

I give it a four stars for what I would describe as an "urban trail"
