I recently discovered a passion for hiking and this trail is only a few minutes from my house. Have been there 5 times in the last 3 weeks. In winter at least, the trail is 10.12 km long to the tain tracks (pont de fer). People walk and snowshoe there. Trail crampons are highly recommended. Poles are not necessary. People DO walk their dogs off leash so please keep this in mind if you are afraid of dogs. Beautiful scenery.
The parking is up the hill from the dam on the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel side. Have fun.

A MUST if you're a bird lover like me. You can get really close to thousands of northern gannets.

As for the hike itself, it is easy.

I had planned to snowshoe but the trail was too packed down. Instead I hiked with poles - was difficult but very pretty. Some very steep sections where I wished I had cleats.

Fun winter hike, but the hard packed snow combined with a lot of up and down was quite slippery. Cleats and/or poles advised!

Good little trail but...NO DOGS ALLOWED

We did a small portion of the 15 km of trails at the Skipontiac site. The trails were pretty flat and perfect for my 7 year old daughter's first time cross-country skiing. The Pine lodge at the site is nice for hot chocolate or lunch after you ski.

Best place close to Montreal for snowshoeing! Take the little detour to Lake Spruce before going up to the to! Amazing views up there!
Took a bit more than 3hours for the out and back!

Superbement calme au sud-ouest de Montréal

Amazing challenging trail. Beautiful scenery.

kind of nice but the noise coming from nearer cars turn off a bit

Awesome awesome awesome experience. I'm from Virginia, United States. We were lucky enough to visit Montmorency Falls in the dead middle of winter in Quebec. It was before 20 and the water had frozen over solid enough that we were able to walk all the way up near the bottom of the falls.

Très bel endroit pour l’entraînement de course en sentier.

Great urban walk. Plenty of great architectural gems along the way!

Always a pleasant walk with the dogs. hiden trails are fun to explore and away from the crowds.

Very enjoyable route for snowshoeing. Some steep slopes that are challenging in winter but the varied terrain makes for a rewarding route that travels through different patches of forest and open field. There is also a fire pit and wood available at Lac Carman should a rest be needed.

Connects with a number of other snowshoeing trails to the north and south.

Nice hike. Did it from P7 and it’s pretty good with a few nice views and a nice river.

Not the best hike in this amazing Park, but still well worth it and.

Excellent trail wth great views of a small lake, the forest, the hills, and a fantastic viewpoint/Lookout on some farmlands, the surrounding Gatineau hills, and the horizon.

Very leisurely stroll through some fairly nice woods. Definitely not a hike, and not many viewpoints or points of interest. But would be good for wheelchairs or strollers etc.

Arrived at the foot of the mountain in early November and parked the car by the side of the road. Didn’t had to pay for parking. Steep but steady climb by the ski slopes. The slopes offered a great view of the islands that dotted the river. At the very top of the ski slope was a rocky passage to the summit. Once on top; a lot of pine trees and tundra like vegetation cover much of the surrounding view. But if you walk a few meters ahead (away from the cell phone towers) a trail will lead you to a higher point with a clearer view of the river and the surrounding area below.

The app should specify if dogs are allowed on the trail. Got there, ready to hike. No dogs allowed. 2 disappointed puppy dogs...

Très beau trajet
