easy hike to the ruins and falls!

Quick hike - well shaded, average amount of bugs. All in all a nice, quiet hike with some great scenery. Trail is very wide and easy to follow.

Had a fantastic time! Dogs swam and the hike was beautiful the ruins are really cool.

Lots of shade. Couple steep climbs but not too difficult. Keep going beyond the Falls to add extra steps. Can get busy on weekends but lots of space.

Great loop trail with lots of rocky outcroppings with views of the surrounding hills , river, lake, and Ottawa skyline in the distance.

Park at P11 at OBrien beach. Lovely trail, very easy hike. About 30 mins walk to the ruins . Nice views of Meech Lake along the way. Dog friendly. Busy on weekends but not too bad on a weeknight. The ruins are so cool, and the falls are very pretty. Bring your bathing suit and a picnic to this spot!

Relatively easy hike with well groomed trails and a short portion along the road.. add in the look out along trail 28 for sure!!

Did the loop clockwise and it’s a decent hike. The beginning and end are along well groomed trails. Trail 9 is fun and muddy in spots right now. Bug spray is a good idea right now!

Easy trail. Well maintained. Light traffic

I did this trail on a beautiful, sunny Sunday in June. Parked in P12 (across from Meech Lake) around noon - the lot was starting to fill up but still had many spots. First few KMs of the trail I saw quite a few people and cyclists but once I was deeper into the trails I saw very few people. The trail is dog friendly and my dog adored it. Quite a few freshwater streams in the first few KMs are a good spot for the dogs to get a drink. Good trail for jogging. The ticks are really bad on this trail, my dog was covered in them when we left. I didn't make it all the way to the Champlain lookout this time around so can't speak for that. Leaving around 2 PM the P12 parking lot was almost completely full.

Nice easy hike but super busy. There are a few trails off the main on you can do

Great views of Ottawa valley

Nice surprise compared to the other trails I have done in Gatineau Park. Plenty of ups and downs and the ruins/waterfalls are beautiful. I'm from BC and this trail reminded me of back home! There are a TON of bugs, so be sure to remember your bug spray!

It’s unbelievable how much bugs there was over there, no surprise the trail goes around a swomp. Unless you bring a ton of bugs spray, avoid this trail. Note that we did this trail today (may 21st). There is also a lot of mud ( as the trail is around a swomp). The scenery are not so impressive. Good trail for workout but doesn’t worth the mud and bugs.

Approx a 6km loop starting and finishing at P7 which took 2hrs in total. Reasonably well sign posted with a few ups and downs along the way.

Trail is a little muddy in spots and there are lots of rocks so it could be slippery. Bugs were out May long weekend and we were glad to have bug spray. This is a great Trail for amateur hikers looking for more of a challenge and workout. Took us 3 hours. Great views and Trail is well marked for most part.

Majestic walk. One of the best in Gatineau Park. My K9 and I loved it.

Two steep hills. A great trail. Nice views of lake. The ruins and waterfall make the trek worth it.

I never knew this trail existed - probably because it appears to be a winter/snowshoe trail and I don't showshoe that often. My family went for a hike in May and the snowshoe trails for sign 60 were still up and they made for a nice 40 minute loop. This trail is hilly and rocky but quite pretty. Lots of trilliums in May and best of all none of the crowds of the sugar bush. You have to cross the highway to get here (assuming you park at the Gatineau Park visitor centre) but after that you're in the clear. Only caution: there is a 10 minute stretch at the bottom that was quite water logged so bring boots in the spring. I'm not sure if the trail is open in the summer (my guess is no as it doesn't appear on the summer map of Gatineau Park) but it may open earlier in the winter so could be a cool place for a pre-snow walk before the trail becomes snowshoe-only.

Lovely hike! Wish I had time to go further out but it was a great trail to get in some exercise and explore. The ruins was neat with the water falls next to it made for great photos!

Super belle course, peu accidenté!

Fairly easy walk out to the ruins. Dogs are allowed on the trail. Ruins are worth the trip!

Just two scenery points along the path. First half a bit easy

One of our favourite hikes! Great views at the top. We started at P7 and took trails 8 and 37 to the King Mountain trail. Trail 8 was a bit wet and muddy but it was easy to get around the mud. There was still a bit of snow on the King Mountain trail on the north side of the mountain.

Not hard but really the reward at the top is worth it!

Amazing vue of the Outaouais region on the top! Beautiful trail!
