Belle petite montagne avec deux points de vue au sommet. En hiver, le début de la trail est difficile à trouver.

Did this trail in winter. You have to walk on the road for 5km before climbing on the trail. It give you nice views!
Did it until rhe first point of view and then go back down.
If you have some energy continue until km18 and go back from the trail on the orher side of the river!
19.5 km in 5h30! Great experience!

I recently discovered a passion for hiking and this trail is only a few minutes from my house. Have been there 5 times in the last 3 weeks. In winter at least, the trail is 10.12 km long to the tain tracks (pont de fer). People walk and snowshoe there. Trail crampons are highly recommended. Poles are not necessary. People DO walk their dogs off leash so please keep this in mind if you are afraid of dogs. Beautiful scenery.
The parking is up the hill from the dam on the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel side. Have fun.

A MUST if you're a bird lover like me. You can get really close to thousands of northern gannets.

As for the hike itself, it is easy.

I had planned to snowshoe but the trail was too packed down. Instead I hiked with poles - was difficult but very pretty. Some very steep sections where I wished I had cleats.

Incredible hike! Very long hike and hard on the knees but very rewarding

cross country skiing

We did a small portion of the 15 km of trails at the Skipontiac site. The trails were pretty flat and perfect for my 7 year old daughter's first time cross-country skiing. The Pine lodge at the site is nice for hot chocolate or lunch after you ski.

Nice trail (avg time : 3-4hrs) but way too many people at the time I went.

Such a great snowshoe hike! The scenery is amazing, and what about the views!
The beginning is hard but you won't regret!
I choose to stay the night in the hut La Voie Lactée on the top of Mount Megantic and I recommand the experience!
It took me 5 hours to get to the hut and then 2 to ger back to the car!

Best place close to Montreal for snowshoeing! Take the little detour to Lake Spruce before going up to the to! Amazing views up there!
Took a bit more than 3hours for the out and back!

MA montagne!!! ha ha! Je l'adore! Le dernier bout est dure! Surtout en raquettes quand tu tape la trail! a refaire!

Was a beautiful hike, fairly easy but with freshly fallen snow it gave us a good workout. We used Trail 67 to get to the 66 loop, so ended up being about 5.5k in total. It was cool to cross over a cross-country skiing trail and watch them for a bit (impressive). It is a beautiful forest trail, however my only issue is that you’re so close to major roads that instead of hearing nature - you hear cars driving by and people talking.

bonne après-midi en raquette!

kind of nice but the noise coming from nearer cars turn off a bit

Awesome awesome awesome experience. I'm from Virginia, United States. We were lucky enough to visit Montmorency Falls in the dead middle of winter in Quebec. It was before 20 and the water had frozen over solid enough that we were able to walk all the way up near the bottom of the falls.

Très bel endroit pour l’entraînement de course en sentier.

My tip: Bring lots of water and sunscreen. Amazing hike.

Always a pleasant walk with the dogs. hiden trails are fun to explore and away from the crowds.

Very enjoyable route for snowshoeing. Some steep slopes that are challenging in winter but the varied terrain makes for a rewarding route that travels through different patches of forest and open field. There is also a fire pit and wood available at Lac Carman should a rest be needed.

Connects with a number of other snowshoeing trails to the north and south.

Excellent winter run!

Vraiment super beau au sommet .

I like hiking on this trail for elevation gained similar to many high peaks in ADK NY. It’s good for preparing before heading to high peaks.

Good workout. It’s about an hour’s walk from the car to Herridge House. Usually well packed snow on the trail in Winter. Totally reasonable to use this trail throughout winter (unlike what’s mentioned in general description for this trail).

Paysage Magnifique !! Très belle randonnée

We’ve completed this hike twice now, and both times enjoyed it. This year was a little snowy, so hiking was slower, but still very beautiful views. If you’re hiking the ridge to the Grand Manitou Lodge/Gondola to get down, it’s fully open and you’re on the ski slopes - very miserable if the snow machines are on.

One of my favorites in Quebec
