Still my most-frequented and one of my favourite Trails ever!! Easy hiking, with a great view of Meech Lake along the way. The Ruins are basically a big playground and you can just walk all over the whole area, up the waterfalls, into the building, along the side of the water. Looks great from all angles and just stunning all year round! It's my favourite place to bring people who've never been to Gatineau park before. Love love love

Took the pup on this hike and he quite enjoyed it, as did I. Not a super long hike, but enjoyable and the pup definitely slept the whole way home in the car!

Wide trail with some moderate elevation changes. Great reward at the end with the ruins and small waterfalls. Not overly strenuous but quite enjoyable

Love taking the off trail way to the ruins. Right after the bridge follow the small path to the right beside the water. Leads to the ruins as long as you stay near the water. Wonderful views of the lake.

A beautiful hike, steep hills, mostly paved . There are no signs to tell you the direction so I recommend a map. The waterfall and ruins are a hidden gem in Gatineau park . A few places to swim . Would definitely do this again

Great trail, great views!

Easy to do with kids and dogs. The ruins are worth the walk

it is a 1 km walk in each direction from P11.
The hill has a steep incline than it levels off, 1/2 way in there are rocks and tree roots
that stick up in a few places.

A very enjoyable hike. Didn't take long to reach the ruins though the trail was washed out a bit after a weekend of heavy rain. Highly recommended for the history buff as the old mill is fun to explore.

The trail is nice, very easy but doesn't worth the buck you pay to acces the park...unless you want to spend some time at the beach the same day.

First time serious hiking, great introduction.

Route 36 has tree roots and rocks sticking up in a few places like the Lauriault trail.
Walked 5.1 going to and from the Carbide Wilson Ruins.

The beginning of this trail is really steep and tough and the many observation points throughout the trail offer beautiful views on the river. The final observation tour also lets you see the perce rock from afar! If you want a relatively short but moderate hike and nice views on the river, I recommend you give this a go :)

Great family hike!

Lovely hike! My 12 year-old son plowed through it!

We were dropped off at the camping side of the island and did a trek out to the monoliths (limestone rock structures) and back to our camping site. Along the way we met several groups of hikers and one group of biologists, ornithologists and scientists who were tagging and tracking birds on the island. That was a cool addition to our hike!
It is a hike through partly wooded area as well as some beach walking. It is easier to walk in the forest as opposed to the beach. Careful of tide times !

Went with a friend on saturday, even if it rained most of the day but this was a great place to go walking, it was very well identified, very clean. Was a definite must. LOVED IT... will go again.

intéressant lorsque pas trop d'eau, une petite ferme à visiter donc endroit familiale

Short hike but really cool to see the ruins, for sure! Great photo op!

It's an enjoyable trail, particularly good if you're short on time. You can easily link to another longer trail if you need a bit more of a challenge after getting to the ruins.
