went to walk the trail and could not find it at all. very poor directions

Deep woods interspersed with meadows. For the distance I went before turning, there was little in the way of lake views. None until my turnaround point. Probably some distance on it does earn its name - Lake Trail. Still, a nice, fairly vigorous hike.

I am super local to this trail so I go weekly, I just do the 35th to 33rd section as I can get dropped off and hike home. There’s a nice stream running through that my dog loves to play fetch in. Some parts of the trail are overgrown but no big deal. There is a hardwood forest near the end of the trail which is my favourite, there’s always a breeze in there. The worst part is the section where you have to walk the edge of a bean field

Decent trail. Would recommend starting the trail on the 31st line instead of the 33rd Line like the map suggests. Otherwise you'll be spending a lot of time hiking around/through cornfields. The trail is well marked and only over grown slightly in some areas. Wear and bring bug spray they're pretty bad especially near the water.

This for the most part is an on road trail . There is no winter maintenance so skiing and snowshoeing are possible . Hiking is allowed in the swamp but the signs have been destroyed . I think local resistance to public use could be a problem . There are no trespassing signs from one end of the trail to the other and I know this is not the case as it is owned by the conservation authority . Nice linear 6 km hike in a forested setting . You might even see a train if you are there at the right time !!

early spring hiking was great. only passed one other couple on the trail. 4 stars only because it was a little muddy in areas.

This is a beautiful trail that runs along the south side of Wildwood Lake in St Marys . Nice and long for good backpacking . Lots of bugs in the summer including ticks . Leave your shorts home on this one . Got into an angry exchange with a mountain biker who thought he owned the trail and almost hit us . These bikers need to be vigilant when using multiuse trails period . Other than that I would highly recommend this trail . K
