Really a 3-1/2 star.
Nice easy walk for sure. I was disappointed you couldn’t see more of the lake than is possible. However, most of the hike was delightful none-the-less. A few segments where you end up on a road and the trail marking is less than helpful.
Now that we’ve done it though, we’ll know what to expect.
Will we do it again? Absolutely.
Parking is sketchy where this app shows the start point. We decided to park in Floridale and enter there. Very happy we did.

Nice easy trail but wish it was closer to the water for nice views. Needs to be marked better when you end up on the road a few times to connect back to the trail.

Big group of us went with all of our dogs. I loved every second, and I’m sure the pups did too!

Excellent trails. Some parts were very muddy. Beautiful views.

Go early in the day if you go on a weekend as it does get very busy.

Nice place to walk. Snapped some great pictures along the way.

Such a perfect place for choices

Snow was pretty deep, but amazing non the less!

This is a very busy trail . It follows a stagnant millrace into St Jacobs . You could piece this together with the Health Valley trail to make a days outing . In itself it is not long enough for backpacking but together it should make for a challenging enough trek . Not for the hard core hiker . Cheers .

The dam is currently closed so until May it isn't really a loop. The trail does have muddy sections (20 ft lengths, 4 inches deep or so) the day after rain.

But that being said it is a well maintained trail running along the edges of farm land, residential spaces, light industrial and a lake. Easy walk.

A trail with amazing potential, BUT, the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo have failed to make it a priority. The trail itself is very scenic, however is is not connected. There are at least a dozen short sections along the Grand river. Hopefully one day it will be just one.

take some bird seed! the chickadees will come to you! trail is thin in parts so just be kind to cyclists. Calm and quiet trail :)

*very buggy as the bush is dense and the farmers run off area along the side has quite the stink (especially in the spring/fall). this is another trail that is susceptible to washout and could use better maintanence as the forest takes over the trail in many areas and the trail is already narrow enough (just enough room for 2 people to walk side by side). Be careful around the bridge as the footing pops up about 3.5-4" above the trail and is a severe hazard w no warning signs or bright colour markings to indicate this and when you get to the wooden bridge watch your footing as it is fairly rotten/punky in areas; not sure why this hasn't been replaced as the seniors like to use it to go across and sit at the bench while they listen to the birds/the water (and feed the chipmunks that scurry by).

Easy loop trail great for walking or running.

I went for a leisurely run, starting at the 2.5km mark (that's where my GPS brought me). The first few kilometers were very nice and well marked. You can tell the trail is well cared for.

Unfortunately, some parts of the trail seem to go through residential backyards, an industrial area, and a maple syrup farm. I was constantly questioning if I was still on the trail. There is also a fork in the trail (if you are heading counter-clockwise) with no markers pointing you to the correct route. I chose wrong... stay left.

It might be a better experience the second time around now that I know the route, but it's nothing spectacular. Great for beginners, I suppose.

Flat easy for walking or running, and well marked.

This walking path is home to some giant, old trees and beautiful scenery. However it is a trafficked walking path whereas I prefer rugged hiking trails that is the only reason I only gave it 2 stars.

Very nice trail a little busy at times. But beautiful mature trees.

Nice trail. Lots of rolling ups and downs that make it a little more interesting. I couldn't find the trail head as it's marked on the map (not sure where you're supposed to park), but there is a trail head on Riverbend drive labeled "Economical Insurance Trailway." I hiked from that trailhead to Bingemans and back. Took about 90 minutes total. Best animal sighting was a garter snake on the pathway.

Didn't know what to expect from this trail. Once we started it we didn't want it to end. Beautifully groomed path! So quiet and peaceful, it was real nice.
