Well maintained trail in both winter and summer. Lots of birds to see in winter if you bring some bird seed. Easy access from town.

Overall a good trail. Some parts very overgrown (had to hold back chest high weeds to walk the path). Great if you just want to take your dog to the water though. Will try bringing my kayak next time!

Such a nice trail. Lots of water for the dogs to swim in. Lots of great dogs around.

Very dog friendly with a mosquito-free pond. Not a ton of shade which just means sun but no bug protection. The southern leg of the trail is quite overgrown and hard to follow but the northern leg isn’t so bad. With the ponds attenuating the risk of heat stroke, this is among the best summer spots for your dog(s). They’ll need to be gentle and friendly though; sensitive or insecure dogs will have a hard time here.

Lots of variety in what you see, easier paths and lots of friendly dogs! Took just under an hour and a half to do the whole loop. Would recommend! Also, not many bugs!

Wet spring meant more mosquitoes than usual. Otherwise a lovely hike.

A little overgrown with weeds at the university ave entrance, but some recent maintenance makes it very rideable for the novice cyclist. Some may need to dismount in areas but moderate trail difficulty otherwise. Definitely recommend

Nothing to really see. Lots of signs for dogs to be leashed, though I seemed to be the only one with a leashed dog. Little bit of a safety concern seeing how my dog is highly reactive and other people's dogs kept running right up to him. Other then that we had fun. Also just be cautious with the dogs swimming in the river. My one dog picked up a parasite most likely from the water.

Typical early spring conditions. Slabs of ice from the Grand River were pushed up onto parts of the trail making walking tricky at times. Muddy and wet trails for the most part. We were prepared for that so no big issue for us. Lots of off-leash dog walkers there. Unfortunately I did not see one of them clean up after their dogs. We saw mallards, chickadees, sparrows, crow and a robin on our hike today. There is quite a bit of beaver activity too.

I take my dog there almost every weekend in the summer, we love it

Great for walking the dog off leash! The dog can swim, run and play with other dogs. Most dogs are friendly, but we have encountered a couple that were a bit temperamental, but no major issues.

Great place to tire my dog out on a Saturday morning. Always run into other dogs off leash who are friendly and who’s owners are responsible. Some sections of the trail need some love to fix erosion and areas that are overgrown.

Gorgeous view! Great short loop to take dogs on, especially if they like to swim! Most dogs are off-leash and friendly.

A great and flat trail. This trai is also good for running (no all the way). I parked there without any issue.

Southern part of the loop is poorly maintained. One section of it have to walk in waist high weeds
