The trail is well marked and easily do-able for kids (3 & 4 years old). There are a number of shorter trails linked to the main one so you can choose to hike longer or shorter distances. Some areas are quite muddy in the Fall, but nothing to worry about. Next to a gravel pit, so not sure what the noise would be like during the week, it was quiet on a Saturday.

A short trail for walking and running which is also close to town. There are a plenty of spots to park.

Easy walking trail - beautiful surroundings.

The most mosquitos ever in the history of mosquitos

A lot of good memories created on this trail. We walked it mid-April every year to mark my ex’s birthday, in-laws and babies to big kids all managed the hills. Feeding chickadees and spotting turtles sunning themselves, skunk cabbage and marsh mallows, quiet reflective times and rowdier races. We always enjoyed it! Now I’m blissed, knowing my sons carry on the tradition with their children.

Hazards - mosquitos, tree roots on trails. The trail is entirely in shade during summer with a large part running through a conifer plantation. Best time may be in May before the deciduous trees leaf out and there are spring flowers. This is a long-sleeve shirt and long pant hike in summer due to mosquitos throughout.

Lovely calm trail even on the weekends!

Thought this was a great 45 minute trail walk for my husband, my shepherds, and me. We went in mid July. Seems like it is surrounded by wet lands so probably would be muddy in spring. There was one narrow spot close to a stagnant pond area so lots of mosquitoes at this part. We hurried through, but that was the only part of trail we didn't like. The rest had nice scenery with decent trail space under a canopy of trees. We went late morning on a hot Sunday and no one else was on the trail. Saw only 1 dog dropping left behind. There was some horse manure left on trail. Overall a nice trail.

Hazards - mosquitos, exposed tree roots on trails, and leave the toxic baneberries alone! Recommended especially in late May for wood warblers and forest flowers. Leave before 11 am to avoid the numerous off-lease dogs and their walkers. Despite these criticisms, it is a pleasant place for a nature stroll in summertime with opportunities to see turtles, frogs, birds. Pack your insect repellent!

Great walk. Just beware of mosquitoes...

Great trail didn’t see any dog poop from what I seen , bring some bug spray lol . If you just stick to the loop it’s 30-1 hour depending on how your walking .

I started at the University end and after the first farm field it closed to a very narrow path with tall grasses/weeds on both sides. That wasn’t for me so I turned back after a bit. Based on other reviews I might not have had to go too much farther before it opened up.

Very nice, well maintained trail. The entrance is to the left of where it shows on the map.

Beautiful overgrowth green trail with a few small inclines throughout. Ran on a May morning around 8. Barely anyone on it.

Very beautiful trails , easy to walk
A little confusing at first as to where the loop is , trail forks off into many directions

don't recommend it if there has been a heavy rain as there are plenty of places that become very difficult to pass through (muddy or pools of water) but it is a beautiful trail otherwise with lots of variety of terrain and trees when it's a bit drier outside and you can easily do 4 or 5km on all the little side trails

Pretty forest and river but the lack of poop and scoop kinda wrecks it. Have walked this trail many many times and the dog crap everywhere gets worse each year.

Did a few loops very easy to walk

One of our favs

Good trail conditions, some muddy spots. Took the boardwalk trail which is missing half the boards due to rot, so a very muddy hike. Found out when we came out the boardwalk trail is closed, however, no signage on the trail to indicate this. Check the map at the kiosk in the parking lot.

Nice trail back half hilly . There is lots of dogs off the leash and lots of dog

Beautiful cross country skiing today. The car GPS understands that 1822 Spragues Rd Cambridge is the parking lot, though there are two lay-bys at trail heads on the other side of the park on Beke Rd.

Easy light trail for a walk.. . chickadees feed by hand in winter

I Have been here dozens of times. A great place for a relatively short hike that covers different terrains. Take a small Ziploc bag of bird feed and feed the birds right out of your hand. There are a few places to sit down as well.
