#10 - Don Mills Leaside Spur Trail
Toronto, OntarioLength: 4.8 mi • Est. 2 h 1 m
The trail was established to connect off-road paved bicycle trails that lead to the northern city limits and southward to downtown and Lake Ontario. The current southern end is officially a dead end with a plan to connect east across the CP tracks to ET Seton Park. An unofficial path has been created near the south end going west through private property (OTT Financial) to the east side of Leslie Street north of the firehall south of the OTT building.
Please ride or walk with special care and consideration on private property and yield to riders going in the opposite direction on the very narrow connector. The entire trail is not maintained in winter and has no lighting. It is a former railway route (Canadian Northern, then CN, from about 1910) that was called the Leaside Spur as it connected to a rail yard in Leaside via the CP mainline at is southern end. The historic rail yard's engine repair building is now restored as a Longo's supermarket on Laird Drive.
