Really nice trail. I brought my dog off-leash. Unfortunately he found a porcupine and got quilled and we spent the event at the emergency Vet office...$500 later.

There are some abandoned ancient lumber mills/towns along the way...if you look hard enough you can find them.

Will repeat

Wide open sandy trail that’s easy walking except for the huge puddles and down trees but that’s probably due to last night’s wind storm. Nice forest scenery but a little too much like an ATV trail for me. Bring rubber boots and splash around! A nice beautiful sunny day makes any trail worth the time! A decent outing.

Came back to try the walk again after being iced out last time I was here. It was good! Not a huge fan of train track walking but it was peaceful and there were some nice birds to watch. It’s still slushy and icy and hard to walk in parts but it’s not too bad. Start at the trail on the road along the active train track and come back up the old train trail and up the stairs to Fort Willow which is a nice little treat at the end of the 5km hike before getting back on the road! A good 1:45 minutes bit of fresh air.

This section of the trail goes through a simcoe county forest tract called Charcoal. there is no getting off this point to point trail. you walk between George Johnston Rd and Vespra Valley Rd. there is some movement in the water so it shouldn't be quite so buggy in the summer. on both sides of the trail, as you approach Vespa Valley Rd, there is marshland. with huge expanses visible, it would undoubtedly be a great birding spot.

We had intended to take a walk across the street, but, we found that there was a corresponding section here that happened to be the start of the North Simcoe rail trail. there was a point at which we heard a pack of Coyotes tipping far away. later we heard some close by howling.

this section passes by numerous streams with gentle babbling sounds. both sides of the trail are private property. there is a section about 2km in that leads up to fort willow.

I can only imagine how buggy this would be in spring, so now is definitely the time to go.

A lovely day. A lovely sunset through the trees. Incredibly icy due to the thaw freeze thaw freeze rain thaw freeze of the last few days so take cautious steps or bring crampons! Lol. Definitely pricy to park as someone said but it’s $11, a great cause and supports the great people of Christian Island/Beausoleil Island FN who keep this trail open for our enjoyment! Thanks you guys! Think I’m correct about that!? Lol.

Very nice trails. A little more “people-y” than I prefer and you can hear the traffic from the nearby highway. Nice wide trails, streams and scenery. Very enjoyable!

Nice trail that meanders along an out of service rail line. I have heard that bears have been seen in the area of the Fort so might be an idea to wear bells or have spray.

Really good trail. Peaceful in winter. I am definitely going to return to either cross country ski or cycle in the spring/fall.

Great trail.

This was a great ride and a wonderful trail. Also some spots along it said it was equestrian, which I suggested an edit with. This is the third trail i've tried in the area and now my favorite.

nice trail :)

Nice quick hikes. The best part is the spring itself with the rare algaes with very cool colours. Hikes are short and quick.

Walked from Flos 7 to Phelpston. Trail is level and hard packed gravel, good for hiking and cycling. Lots of bugs. Church in Phelpston (St Patrick) is open in 2017 in the summer on the weekends, a lovely church. Pleasant trail with rural scenery.

took me a bit to figure out the the trail was the railway tracks. I'm not crazy about walking on railway tracks id rather walk in the woods. the hike was rated easy so that was expected but there not even a challenge or hills.
I would not do this one again. the highlight was the fort which was not large and was not much to see.
plus you are supposed to pay for parking.
crazy! there are way better trails

Nice trail. Lots of to see if you take your time. Bring your bug spray!!

Easy hike, very peaceful. Trails not well maintained in the winter so wear some good sturdy waterproof shoes.

A good challenge to complete in one day.

Great family walk!

A picturesque scenic park with trails of a good length and varying conditions. The red trail was quite wet and soggy in parts. Some of the boardwalks in those locations could be maintained better than just slippery logs places across the trail. Overall a good experience but the parking fee of $11.25 was a bit high

Hiked from Phelpston to Flos Road 7. Very pleasant hike. Straight and level so not a physical challenge but relaxing and very scenic.

After I found the trail it was a really good hike. My dog and I loved the trails.

Not overly scenic. It is a quarry after all. Lots of loose sand so not easy on the ankles. Overall OK but there are much nicer trails nearby.

Not a bad trail. Hilly with some of the lower portions having a sand surface. No trail markings. The north west leg ends on private property.

I take the trail from Phelpston to Elmvale every once and a while, it is very nice, you pass a lot of farms and go through a lot of forest, there is grass growing in the middle of the path, While I was heading back I ran over either a Mississauga Rattlesnake or a Milksnake (I didn't see it until it was too late for the snake, it was a downpour)

very green and we'll taken care of.

Easy trail but very pretty diverse forest on Green trail. Did with snow on ground. Will be nice to go back and see it when things start to bloom.
