A few corrections. Trail only goes 5 miles east from Beachville and does not reach Woodstock. Trail is mostly flat and considered easy. There is a river but no lake. The part west from Beachville is not fully connected yet and should be accessed from Domtar Line only as coming in from the west end require you to trespass on CN railway property and very close to very active railway tracks. My dog really enjoys this trail!! It's got a small picnic area and an outhouse which is nice. Bugs are REALLY bad and there were a LOT of broken boards along the boardwalk. The trail to the left (Phillips Ridge I believe) is very overgrown and narrow.

great walking trail, especially if you have small children

Very short easy flat loop. My dog enjoyed it. Made the mistake going after it rained a little and we basically ran the trail as there were so many mosquitos. Super nice that they have bathrooms there too.

A lovely, well maintained trail. Beautiful foliage. Just make sure you take bug spray! We literally ran through the trail - which was an amazing workout!

Thanks to Dr. John Lawson! Pretty easy walk; narrow in a few spots.

went here yesterday.. thousands of trilliums are blooming this time of year which makes it such a beautiful place.. not too many people here, makes it nice for listening to the birds

it's a decent track. DOGS are allowed on leash according to the signage and you frequently run into outhers during your walk it's a popular spot with a fare amount of traffic. the bugs are bad in the summer.

Don't even bother going to this trail. It takes you to a locked gate on the side of a dirt road.

this trail doesn't currently run all the way into Woodstock, there are three obstacles it would have to deal with to make this possible. Either crossing the CPR tracks which CP will never allow for safety reasons. crossing the CNR tracks which again they will never allow for safety reasons. Last you would have to wade across the Thames River at the moment because there is no bridge built as it would wash away in spring floods.

nice trail at start but not very well marked after a few km. spring might be better

Beautiful easy trail. Beautiful variety of many different trees. Nice shelter midway where you can sit and look over the fields of watch birds feeding. Beautiful section along the fence line for photos. I took my kindergarten class this year and it was perfect for them. Covered picnic areas and outhouse.

Short and sweet.

This trail is not marked and not well travelled. I had to backtrack a couple times and then made my way back to the road. Weeds, mud, mosquitos and too many frogs!

I have only completed half of this trail . I have been told by several people you can make it all the way to Woodstock from Domtar Line . I went as far as the new picnic shelter , really nice view of the Thames River plain . There is a historic factory ruin along the way with an interesting history . The main CNR line is within sight for most of the trail . The one train engineer even waved at us , nice . People we met along the way seemed friendly . Watch out for the Hogweed along the way , there is a bunch of it . There are some side trails and loops coming off the main trail . Enjoy !!

on McBeth Tract

This secluded tract is suited for the very seasoned hiker ready to roll with the unexpected . We were stopped by the Game Warden wanting to know if we were hunting . We do not hunt and I am glad they are monitoring this site , less chance of an accident . This area is heavily glaciated and hilly . Some amazing panoramic vistas to forest swamps shrouded in mist . The front has many ATV tracks but the best are the single track paths at the rear . Very muddy and grown over in spots . Proper hiking boots with long pants are a must , tie up your cuffs to keep the ticks out . Nice tract just keep your senses alert for the unexpected . K !!

This is a wildlife conservation area . It isn't particularly long in terms of backpacking but can be added to other trails in the area for a day outing . Nice natural setting with a lean-too lookout at the north end of the loops . This place is tick heaven , so no shorts and slippers here ! The people we encountered seemed weirded out by backpackers . How dare those awful backpackers come into our sanctuary with their big muddy boots and rucksacks . Well get over it as we will be back to this one , just smile and wave . K !!

Short but what a wonderful trail to hike on. Many spring wildflowers make it worthwhile .
