I absolutely love this trail, I have gone end to end many times and it is a fantastic walk.

Walking along the river was nice but not much else to look at and trail was not very well kept when I visited.

Easy walking ended up being 7.6km in length. The boardwalk makes it easy to do.

Great trail but please hikers...pick up after your dogs!

This used to be one my favourite local spots. Back in 2012-2013 I would have given this a solid 5/5 star rating. The trail since then has been seriously overused and suffers from lots of erosion (the whitevale section in particular). And now a construction site for a new subdivision boarders the southern portions of the trail.

Late sept - oct is the best time to go, as the mosquitos & deerfly are BRUTAL throughout summer.

Having said all that, the trail does have nice sections especially in late fall and early spring. If you do the whole trail return trip is 5-7 hours pending on your pace, which is longer than most of the other trails within the area.

If you like waste barrels and traffic cones randomly strewn through out your hiking trail, this is the place for you!

I think this trail is closed down? I don't know if its just under construction or if they're putting something else there but I couldn't walk through it :(

trail running

Ran the trail from Woodstock to Hickson on Feb 25th. Most of the trail was clear but there were still some portions with deeper snow and water covered ice that required careful navigation.

Amazing job in opening up the north part of the trail!

Took the roads back on the return trip as the winds were picking up and the chance of tree limbs breaking down was starting to unnerve me.

This is one of the nicer trails in the area and on this particular day I didn’t see one other person.

Great walk for everyone, make sure to go when it’s not too hot out otherwise the falls will be dried

It is now a finished trail that allows a person to hike or bike to Woodstock.
There is one thing in the description of the trail that is incorrect. HORSES ARE NOT ALLOWED on the trail.

Some spots a little icy with the thaw but it's a nice hike. We went mid afternoon and only passed 2 other couples while doing the loop.

A long walk, flat and concrete, nice views though. Very hot on a hot day, no shade.

I love this trail. There is ample parking and a few porta potties along the route.
The trail is flat and well maintained. If you are nervous about walking alone in the woods...this trail is for you. It’s clear and there are many friendly hikers around. This doesn’t mean that you won’t see any wildlife. There are many birds including owls, coyote scat, and snakes in summer. A lovely urban-type hike.

Makes a nice walk or bike ride, but I don't know why it's rated as moderate as it's paved assfault the whole way with minimal hills.

Perfect trail for a relaxing hike!

Was a nice trial to walk in the winter, looking forward to seeing it in the summer. Slightly icy on some paths but easy to follow and nice scenery. Was hard to find using the directions on this app. The entrance we found was on Mutual street in Pickering. Had a parking lot there that was fee. Also has a play ground and a soccer field. Will defiantly be back again.

Better for cross country skiing than snowshoeing but enjoyable all the same. River was frozen over well so we were able to venture out!

Great winter trail. The main trail seemed to have been groomed by a snow mobile which made the going quite easy. The top loop through the forested area was a little tougher with a barely broken trail. Would have definitely fared better with the snow shoes and been able to take advantage of some of the lesser traveled side trails by the water. Not the most secluded trail and a fair bit of road noise on sections, but enjoyable non the less

This is my staple trail. I do the main loop about 60x a year!

Near where I grew up. I swam in the radioactive waters basically my whole life so I’m fucked but it’s home.

Awesome single track mountain biking trails for a really good price

I walk my dog regularly along the trail. I’m not sure how it got a moderate rating. It’s flat and groomed, so I’d suggest it’s pretty easy walking. It runs along side of the Holland River so there’s plenty of birds and other small forms of wildlife.

Very good

The trail itself is amazing! It’s gorgeous with lots of different elevations. There’s also an off-leash fenced dog park in the south end of the trail. Dogs must be on leash on the trail though. Unfortunately enforcement of this rule is minimal as everyone let’s their dogs off leash on the trail. We probably won’t be back again because our pup was attacked by two different dogs who were off leash on the trail. One lady claimed her dog “didn’t like dogs who were not neutered”. Our pup was 4 months at the time and isn’t scheduled for a neutering until 1 year. Nevertheless, how could you allow your dog to roam free off leash when you KNOW your dog may potentially be a threat to other dogs, dog owners and walkers? Definitely such a negligent act. Wouldn’t trust having our pup on the trail again. Even though we kept him on leash, it’s hard to control other dogs and the actions of other owners.

there's construction at the beginning point of the trail so parked on Willowbank Trail.

a good place for walking. especially with strollers bc the whole path is widely paved. as for a hike... felt more like a neighborhood walk ... houses along side the path ... there's a river that runs along side the path but u can't really walk beside it ...

definately not secluded or quiet. came during the week . lots of people from the neighborhood walking and then once school is out the children use parts of the path as well.

Beautiful walking trail in the winter with spots to stop off and watch birds.

Once you pass the industrial surroundings in the beginning, it is a very peaceful trail
