Beautiful and starting to green now that it's mid-May

Did the whole jack pine trail in 52 min. Pretty well groomed and easy for all types of hikers, families included. Mosquitos are kind of aggressive near the boardwalk but if you move at a decent rate you should be fine. Nice trail

Beautiful. Buggy in spots.

best place to bring our dog and have lots of fun!

Quiet and pretty. Nice length. So many of the NCC trails are under 4km.

Fair warning, the 'Winter Trail' portion across Hawthorne was still quite wet (standing water wet) as of May 5th

No dogs allowed but this said dogs were allowed. Made the trip and had to leave

This loop is pretty flat and the trails are mostly well groomed which makes it good for all ability levels. We went after a big wind storm so there were a few downed trees covering the trail and some Giant puddles requiring us to go off the trail to get around. That isn’t a complaint, just a warning in case someone is planning to go with a stroller. Saw lots of gardener snakes, red squirrels, chickadees, and a duck, goose, woodpecker and a heron. There is a variety of scenery, forest, swamp, ruins, fields etc. Bathrooms at 2 of the trail heads.

Family favourite - great place to bring the dog.

Great easy walking trail to just relax and look at the beautiful pines.

fun and easy, good for families

Very muddy in parts. We started at P21 and made our way to the bog trail which is really beautiful and allowed us to see lots of birds up close along the boardwalk. We started to make our way back via 53E however it was very muddy in the first 50 yards so we made our way back up on to the road. We look forward to going back and finishing that part of the trail when it is drier.

Nice little hike close to bridlewood that offers some neat wooded sections across a variety of terrains (groomed paths, logs , Stoney areas, wood bridges).

A bit muddy in parts, will need gortex lined boots to comfortably complete full trail. Almost no snow left,. Trail may get muddier in the next week or two because still some frost under the muddy parts.

This trail is borderline 2 or 3.

Once you are away from the parking lot (P20) and the sound of cars, the woods are really nice. They were teeming with woodpeckers and red squirrels. But the massive hydro towers in the middle of the trail is a bit jarring. There were also a lot of people, so not quite as quiet as other trails.

On the positive side, the species of trees varies nicely throughout the trail and the start is nice as it feels like you are walking on top of a bluff.

Beautiful trail, a bit wet but very easy, mais que nous sommes chanceux!

Easy trail, fairly quiet, lots of birds

Really enjoyed it

Very pleasant.

Went on our first hike of the year and we're both beginners, had a ton of fun but it's still covered in snow. Some areas are very wet still, very fun beginner trail that was a good distance. Bring water!

I wasn't sure how the trail would be with the warmer weather this past week. It was great! The slushy, melted snow made for great resistance and there were several spots of ground to tread on to break from the resistance of the snow.

j'adore y aller avec mon chien

Nice winter easy winter trail. Also good for Nordic cross country skiing. Trails are relatively flat. Great for viewing birds!

Better for cross country skiing than snowshoeing but enjoyable all the same. River was frozen over well so we were able to venture out!

This trail leads from the p11 parking lot. We walked the portion of this trail to the M26 marker. It was nice but the major negative was that the hum of the highway never was completely muffled out. Also, not as varied as the portion leaving from p9 and seemed to have more people. The power lines running through the middle of the trail aren't that nice either.

A nice bonus though is there lots of cute chickadees to feed!

Nothing wow but pleasant enough trail. Very flat and new growth mixed forest.

Two things stand out: the lake is pretty impressive considering this is a lake smack near the Kanata suburbs; the portion of the trail near the "North Dogsled" intersection is a lot rockier and more hilly. I would give that part 4 stars.

The area seems mostly promoted as a place for mountain bikers (there were lots of fat tire cyclists when we went) but we saw lots of walkers too.

We found street parking off 2nd line road. There are a couple of entrances.

Lots of red squirrels!

It was mostly packed snow when I went. parking spaces were limited.

Very nice trail for cross country skiing but the snow was a bit too compact for snow shoeing. I recommend going just after a heavy snowfall if you want to do snowshoeing.

The trail was great! We made sure to not walk on the Cross County ski paths(it was super easy to stay off their tracks), but still encountered a very unpleasant vocal skier . Being considerate and respectful goes both ways ☺️
Please remember it’s a multi-use trail!

Rock and roll times.

Love this trail! So beautiful in the fall but just all in all a great trail to bring the dog! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice walk, not too long!
