I like this trail. Sometimes alot of people walking with can be a bit of a pain when biking. But trails sprouting off of this one are alot of fun.

Very buggy, had to jog a few parts because they were so bad! Trail was nice, fairly easy but could be a bit bumpy for a stroler. Also my car window got smashed while we were hiking and things were taken from my backseat so that really sucked, but the hike itself was nice.

Nice place for a walk. It’s mostly flat so it’s easy for everyone. Lots of recent rain and standing water meant lots of mosquitoes. Take something for the chickadees and nuthatches. They fly at you at the first junction on the north side of the loop (leaving from the Eagleson parking lot).

For travelling on foot this trail sucks! Too many cyclists. There are better trails to walk or hike on than this. There are some parts downtown though that are good to walk on but most of it should be left for the cyclists. It is a great trail to bike on though.

Near flat so 3 stars as not challenging. It’s definitely easy. But very beautiful! You can make it longer by adding in extra trails.

Very nice and quiet trail but nothing special.
Bring seeds so you can hand feed birds especially in winter

47 degrees today but still a lovely walk!

Great multi-use paved trail, used by both cyclists and hikers. This path offers great views of the Ottawa River the back of the parliament buildings and Rideau Canal.

Short and easy trail. The path was well maintained and was easy to access from the main road. I would recommend this hike for someone with kids and/or looking for a quick fix of nature.

Quick ride with my daughter did outer loop. It is great for beginners trying to learn

It’s a very nice trail with a cool limestone kiln. The lookout wasn’t as good as the pictures made it seem but it was very pretty. If you move at a good clip the bugs are not much of a problem. The paths alternate between one person wide and uneven path to five people wide and wood chips which makes for interesting changes to the scenery. Would definitely go recommend.

Quite flat, easy trail

Nice trail, not too muddy at this time of the year. Some bugs, but I have seen worse. Had a really good time with the girlfriend !! :)

Very nice, relaxing and peaceful hike. It has very interesting wildlife.

A large dog park with woodsy trails, some dogs of the larger dogs found it okay to manage smaller dogs were too tired to move because of the heat
the temperature reached 32° with humidity. :]- .

There is a big parking lot, washrooms, and there is some chairs to the right of some trees where the main trail starts and is accessible to the right with some tree roots on the left sticking up.

Love this trail! I use it for biking as well as walking my dog some really great look out points.

Great trail for relaxing walk, many different paths makes this trail fun to explore.

We walked about 3km on this sweet trail. A nice way to start the weekend.

Perfect with kids! We had the chance to skip on wood deck paths, climb tree stumps and fallen branches. Find singing frogs and ready-to-eat raspberries. Of course you are welcomed with notices about ticks and coyotes (which scared the crap of of me) but amazing people with dogs only were met on the trail!

Nice hiking area to bring your dog! There are a lot of different “off route” trails that give you the option to extend your hike and see different things. Dogs are allowed during spring, summer, and autumn but not during winter.

Love this trail! But got completely accosted by some woman about the dog, both on the trail and in the parking lot.
There are trails that are clearly marked no dogs in the conservation area, but others say dogs are ok or there is no signage. I was on one of the dog green trails. They should update their signage so it’s more clear for both summer and winter as their are a couple of signs that say no dogs in the winter and some that have no restrictions. Otherwise a great walk.

Beautiful and starting to green now that it's mid-May

Did the whole jack pine trail in 52 min. Pretty well groomed and easy for all types of hikers, families included. Mosquitos are kind of aggressive near the boardwalk but if you move at a decent rate you should be fine. Nice trail

Beautiful. Buggy in spots.

best place to bring our dog and have lots of fun!

Quiet and pretty. Nice length. So many of the NCC trails are under 4km.

Fair warning, the 'Winter Trail' portion across Hawthorne was still quite wet (standing water wet) as of May 5th

No dogs allowed but this said dogs were allowed. Made the trip and had to leave

This loop is pretty flat and the trails are mostly well groomed which makes it good for all ability levels. We went after a big wind storm so there were a few downed trees covering the trail and some Giant puddles requiring us to go off the trail to get around. That isn’t a complaint, just a warning in case someone is planning to go with a stroller. Saw lots of gardener snakes, red squirrels, chickadees, and a duck, goose, woodpecker and a heron. There is a variety of scenery, forest, swamp, ruins, fields etc. Bathrooms at 2 of the trail heads.

Family favourite - great place to bring the dog.
