Nice views, not recommended for older persons and little kids as it is very rocky

on George Island Trail

Poorly marked trail with a high mosquito burden given wetland areas but overall a great experience. came across many animals (deers, porcupine, wild fowl, heron) over varied terrains. Would do it again!

The mainland to George island is only about 100 m but there is a ferry service with the sportsman inn that can take you across and back for $3 (call 7052879990). The trail takes about 3.5 hours.

have fun!

Some steep parts, some parts of the trail are poorly marked. Bugs were horrible.
Beautiful trail though. So many areas with amazing scenery. Wonderful views of the bog and lakes. Lots of variety of terrain, but easy to get though.

So much fun, lots of rocky terrain for climbing. My 8 yr old LOVED it!!!

Too buggy

Amazing!

Beautiful look outs, after a moderate hike.

Very diverse Terran and not too difficult. Too bad it’s not being maintained anymore. It was the first time my wife and I came across a bear on a trail. Great experience!

this was a challenge for sure! start at the sportsman lodge dock only the other access is poorly marked. trail is not maintained but many of the weathered trail markers can be spotted. this is a good 3.5 hour hike over very challenging terrain.

Great hike with beautiful views. Lots of variety and somewhat challenging in spots with steep climbs and descents, though short, and very rocky and many tree roots to watch out for. I would only consider this hike easy in comparison to The Crack which I hiked yesterday, otherwise, I would give it a moderate.

Very pretty little hike, good beginner trail if you don't mind a little elevation. Lots of sections were covered in ice but as long as you don't mind going around and getting creative its fun.

Very nice trail! Takes about an hour to do and there's a nice old car in the woods about 10mins into the hike. Pretty cool to see:) Beautiful views especially if you explore abit off track !

Fantastic. Great views.

Great little hike. Very pretty out on the rocks around the bog.

Beautiful views !

Closed. Make sure you call ahead this trail is privately maintained and wasn't open when we made the trip. You also need to take a boat across (only costs $3) but we were told that it was a swamp and we would be up to our wait in marsh.

easy hike, though bugs and swamps can be a nuisance. Can be extended to Acid Lake, Cave Lake and Topaz Lake, though hiking time will increase to 9 hours. Will try next time. For details refer to Killarney Park map.

If you want to experience a classic Canadian shield trail I would do this one. The geology of the rocks is very interesting and the view of Georgian Bay when you get to the end of the trail is serene. The terrain can be a bit uneven so I would rate the trail as moderate for young children although my 6-year old daughter was able to manage. Bring snacks and water so you can linger and enjoy the views of the Bay.

Amazing view once you reach the top. I would recommend doing this one first before others. Seeing the others takes away the wow factor. Still a gorgeous trail.
