We did this trail on the Labour Day holiday Monday and only encountered 2 couples which was great. The trail is 15km, not 13.6. It took us almost 6 hours at a decent pace with a few snack breaks. The first part of the trail near the lake was very pretty and breezy with lots of rocks to sun yourself on if you want to. The trail was well-marked and the terrain was not too difficult. There was a lot of up and down but nothing too slippery or treacherous. There were hardly any bugs to speak of. It was a great day!

I have hiked and trail run this route many times over the last ten years and highly recommend it. Six hours allows for a leisurely hike and picnic lunch. It is a loop route, not an out and back route as this app suggests.

I was just there a week ago, 2nd week of July, I took this trail and the mosquitos had a feast on me. Good trail!

It may sound obvious but might be helpful for non-residents, this is a Provincial Park so we all have to buy a day pass. Parking is right at the trailhead and there is a comfort station right there (nice one too) There is also a lovely beach so plan on a swim when you return. As was mentioned by Ms. Carr below, the second half of the trail is very buggy. I mean most trails are in June. I get it. Some lovely views. Terrain isn't difficult. Trail is well marked with blue 'patches' and each kilometer is indicated. If you're low on water, make sure you top up by km 9. Its a long stretch from 9 to about 12 with no access to water. I'll come back again in the fall for sure.

Great trail did the 15km in 4.5hrs, plenty of beautiful look outs and resting options. Nice little lunch spot just shy of the 12km marker. First half of the trail was very nice and followed fairly close to the lake so the breeze kept most bugs at bay but the second half was mostly a forest adventure and you’d definitely need bug spray as the mosquitoes are voracious.

Great hike!
Not too difficult.

The picture for this trail doesn’t look like anything I saw.
Good trail though. Don’t go in May. Mosquitos will carry you away.

Really nice and peaceful hike. Saw a deer and loved listening to the loons call. 15km took me about 5 hours. I will probably go back next summer.

Very beautiful!! Will definitely be back again. Only did the 15 km loop and it took about 3.5 hours for 2 experienced hikers

Much more of a hiking trail than mountain biking. 19km trail was very bumpy, soft and parts were to be walked. There weren't many views, other than some nice ponds and quiet forest settings. This ride took about 2 hours and was more a workout than fun. Expect to stop a lot and drink lots of water... it's a doozie. picture is not accurate btw

Three fantastic trails, a 15 km trail around the lake, a 1.5 km lakeshore trail, and the 3km Bonnie's pond loop. Wonderful lookouts, beautiful forest, ponds, streams and the lake. Great trails, a fantastic Provincial Park. Highly recommended! Hiking, snowshoeing, skiing and biking.
