Otherwise called Maidenhead, this trail is like the whole park: denser, greener and wilder than you think something so close to Toronto (and so frequented by people from the city, like myself). Not sure if it's an interesting enough trail to pay to access only this trail, but worth it if you're camping or going to the beach. Calling the trail overgrown or unkempt is a but unfair - the path is clear and there isn't much in terms of branches poking out into the walking space. It's just a bit wild, is all. THERE IS POISON IVY. My poor husband can tell you all about it, so dress/behave for the occasion (this is the 4 stars). it's a nice trail to take the dogs or kids who like to walk their own paths. Doable after dark as long as you have a light. Some parks were a little muddy but I walked it in sandals just fine.

very badly maintained and I payed 15 backs to get on this trail so if you don't go and camp here it's not worth going on it

Trail was well maintained and a fairly flat walk. It has some educational signs along the way. The ferry to and from the island is a pay for use.

I can only give the winter/spring perspective. When I went, after an ice storm the trail was quiet and beautiful and offered interesting lake views. It wasn't too nature-like but there were some heritage buildings along the trail that seemed interesting for kids. I would actually give this trail higher stars for my experience, but I suspect its more hectic in the summer.

The trail system is divided into four trail segments that all offer a unique learning opportunity. Each trail is marked with seven points of interest, lined with exhibits, wildlife viewing areas and unique opportunities to safely examine wetlands. You can get there by taking the ferry.

Very muddy in the early Spring, but a nice little walk nonetheless. Spotted many frogs near the little bridge, deep in the trail! Lovely place for family to picnic by the lake in warmer climate.
