Trail was well maintained in the winter. stairs over the major bridge were well salted. Very easy trail mostly flat also did the hardwood trail that connects to this trail much more hilly.

What a gem! I was so pleasantly surprised by all that I found upon arriving at the entrance gate to the conservation area. I paid the entry fee of $7 for one adult and parked the car in the spacious parking lot.
The trail head gave great direction to 3 wide and well marked trails in 3 different lengths. I chose the longest ( purple 8 km round trip) This was obviously the less traveled of the 3 but was wide and clear and mostly flat with forest, and a few ponds to view. Around the halfway point was a fire pit, picnic tables and plenty of fire wood. A great place to stop and warm up and have lunch and due to the longer trail and distance there are very few children.
The yellow trail was very flat and very smooth and possibly acceptable for a fitness strolled. Lots of families and children were on this trail. Along the way was a rest room and several random table to stop and take a break.
Upon arriving at the falls there are several tables and a big fire pit with plenty of seating and wood to burn.
There is a set of stairs that take you down to the bottom of the falls and is a great place to take photos.
This trail was not a difficult or strenuous trail but beautiful.

Things to bring: marshmallows, hot dogs, bird seed to hand feed the birds.

Nice trail. Wish there was a better view of the water, but beautiful forest. Saw an owl!

Nice, easy trail. Falls are mesmerizing to watch. Great place for a picnic/snack.

We hiked the trail with our 6and 8 yr old daughters. Took us 1hr and 35min. Beautiful snow made this January hike a blast. Lots of great look out spots and photo opportunities overlooking lakes and marshes. If you’re staying in the park during the winter be prepared to add another 1.5km to your hike just to get to the start of the Cranberry trail. Then add that same 1.5 km to end to get back to you yurt site. Totally recommended however.

Many trails, many levels of hiking. Always a great place to go.

Trail was in good shape for January and we had a good hike through the woods. We had no trouble finding the markings for the main (white) trail and the alternate blue and orange trails. Only one washroom at the front was open and it’s lock was broken. Disappointed that my “parking fee” isn’t be used to maintain the facility

Very cute short trail - great for kids.

The path to the falls is a nice walk, lots of birds to see, take some seed to coax them down, there are fire pits at the falls for roasting marshmallows and warming up in the winter time

Did this hike mid December, about of Foot of snow on the ground and was beautiful, amazing view from the top after climbing up a bunch of rocks/boulders, glad we had snow pants on for the climb down as there were a lot of icy rocks and we slid down on our back sides. 14$ parking in the lot at trail head

Great trail easy not moderate. Worth coming year round.
Beautiful spot for lunch picnic that’s covered.
Need icers to have an easy worry free hike.

Great narrow, long and challenging trails. Excellent for walking, running and mountain biking. A lot of fat tire bike riders are enjoying themselves.

Someone has crafted a lot of miniature houses (doors) in trees along the trail and other funny things. Very enjoyable!

Great day hike. Hard to swim there due to the rocks. If you continue around the bay you’ll find yourself at some old fishing cabins. Trail is a little hard to navigate once you head north from the picnic tables but the few at the fishing cabins is great.

Beautiful trail along river and through parks

A nice day walk, very easy

Nice easy hike through a beautiful forest. Campsites are in good condition and include most things you would expect. Lots of deer and unfortunately ticks were a plenty. There is some really cool stuff from the early 1900's abandoned in the woods.

Nothing challenging about this one if you are in good shape. It’s a nice walk through the woods along the river. Trail crosses the river every now and then over little bridges. Very nice!

This trail is really wonderful and great for stroller or wheelchair...there are only about 200meters soft surface which maybe hard for stroller and wheel chair, the remaining are great!

Beautiful trail, there are lots of tree roots and the leaves can make things a little slippery so watch where you’re going.

Great walk and it is absolutely beautiful in the fall. I highly recommend it!

A little confusing on how the trails were marked. We started with a little mist and high 2 degrees but it didn’t matter.
We did extra km than what we expected but had a great time in such a beautiful place.

Nice fall family walk to the falls and back. Wide flat trail makes it an easy outing. Fire pit at the falls is an amazing payoff for the kids if you remember to pack the marshmallows!

great hike. can be slippery when the rocks are wet

Parking fees, ya’ right. The money isn’t being used to maintain or mark the trails. The hike is doable but it’s misleading. The trails don’t need to be like sidewalks but some signs would certainly be helpful rather than the different colours on the trees.

Great trails with some beautiful scenery however found it very confusing at times and ended up walking down the highway back to the parking lot.

very easy trail, flat ground the entire time. Great views of the Lake.
