on George Island Trail

Poorly marked trail with a high mosquito burden given wetland areas but overall a great experience. came across many animals (deers, porcupine, wild fowl, heron) over varied terrains. Would do it again!

The mainland to George island is only about 100 m but there is a ferry service with the sportsman inn that can take you across and back for $3 (call 7052879990). The trail takes about 3.5 hours.

have fun!

Quite flat, easy trail

Rated this hike low due to the annoying flies that bit & followed us the whole way even though we doused ourselves with bug spray. Nice lake views. Would be better to do in the spring or fall. I like shaded trails & this trail is open.

Sketchy AF!!!! There is a board walk style part of his trail that is missing tons of boards with massive nails sticking up !! Dog poop every where on the trail too !!! The bridges were scary dangerous . This trail is extremely un kept !! I will never never come back her again !!

Great trail with gorgeous views as a reward at the end. Did the hike with my Australian Shepherd, so it is a very dog friendly hike.

Beautiful look out over the lake, different foliage and terrain throughout the walk.

Awesome trial close to home

Good wide easy trail for walking, running, rollerblading, biking- just about anything - I saw no horses
Beach all the way along path, which continues into Burlington.
If you are lucky, you will get to see lift Bridge in action - awesome

Was there recently and the trail was seriously overgrown and there is Giant Hogweed around the northern part of the trail. Construction under the 407 also makes it difficult to access. We did however see a beaver.

Have to start at Tews Falls parking lot and not Webster’s Falls. The trail between Webster’s Falls and Tews Falls is closed. Otherwise great hike.

This trail is not well maintained or marked. We ended up getting lost and walking most of it on the road till we found another entry point to finish it off.
Very buggy. Make sure you take bug spray. The parts of the trail that are groomed are nice for walking on. But the parts not are like going thru the jungle.

My go to woodlot. So much to see and do on these trails. 100% recommend. If your new to hiking, keep track of which turns you take and there are many side trails to wonder off to.

Amazing woodlot, lots to see and so many hiking and biking trails. If you want to see some unique landscape with a easy to moderate trail (moderate due to the length of trails and connection to other trails) Ive heard porcupines and coyotes here, seen tree frogs, spring peepers, deer and foxes. biting bugs can be VERY BAD in the spring. Bug spray wont do anything to stop the clouds of mosquitos. So if you dont like getting bit, wait until bug season is pretty well over or go on a day thats cool and rainy.

Pretty easy trail, good for hiking and connects to many other tracks in the woods. Hunting is permitted during hunting season.
Some good birdwatching, not the best. Some nice species such as pileated wood peckers, wood thrush and a variety of warblers. The occasional least and american bitterns as well as pie billed grebes in the marshes.

Great easy trail with wide pathways if you have a larger group. The overall hike was short but if you prefer waterfalls then it's a great place to go.

Amazing trail but bugs can get bad when walking or running it

on Spirit Rock Trail

Okay trail, make sure to follow the trail on top of the cliff to get to the lookout. We followed the lake which was much better, but was not spirit rock.

Nice trail, not too muddy at this time of the year. Some bugs, but I have seen worse. Had a really good time with the girlfriend !! :)

This hike is a gem for this small town! It’s actually surprising for how big the forest and trail is. A nice non difficult hike with a small river flowing mid way. No lookout points, just a nice stroll.

Such an awesome moderate trail, with a great view at the top. Went about a year ago, before they made you pay. If it rained the day before, there’s a couple muddy and slippery areas.

Entry points onto the trail were not clearly marked. We couldn’t find access along Constance so we drove further and ended up parking and walking in off Lakeshore Road and Armiger Lane but had to ask for directions to get there. The path is beautiful - flat and wide - with lots of wildlife (woodpeckers, cardinals, chipmunks and squirrels). It runs along a shallow section of Sixteen Mile Creek. We went mid-day, mid-week and didn’t see anyone else on the trail. Mix of dirt path and paved trails. Bring bug spray!

Nice trail to get out for a few hours

This trail is clearly one of the best places to look for birds in Ottawa! Unfortunately, the forest is being cut down.

Quick an easy short hike with nice views of the lake. There is tall grass in sections and a boardwalk across a marshy section with a nice perspective of the wetland bog/marsh.

Lots of variety of terrain and great views. Easy to moderate.

I have two dogs and we didn’t see anyone on the trails the couple hours we were out. Trails were beautiful with great views of the lake and good biodiversity. Not a challenging hike but very enjoyable for the dogs and I. The park also has a specific off-leash dog park for those interested.

Enjoyed this hike. Pay attention to the white spray paint marks on the trees. If not for those u would get lost. Nice moderate ability trail. Beautiful lake views.
