To all the dog walkers out there using Walter Bean Trail, came across Coyote Scat this afternoon, close to pioneer tower. The brush is really over grown in parts which of course is fabulous to our non domestic four legged friends.

an amazing trail done it many times

beautiful trail I have done it many times and have enjoyed each time

Several nice trails to explore. We will be back this winter to try out the skiing. There is an entrance fee if you don't have a pass.

I don't know why but this trail gave me the creeps. I was by myself and took a shortcut to get out of there as fast as I could.

It is awesome! Liked the wooden walkway at the middle.

Generally wide enough for bikes and walkers but not always. Bikers should dismount on narrow track. Well kept and construction was finished on my trip yesterday though signs remain up.
It’s along the Speed River mostly, not the Grand. Nice forested path much of the way. Very little incline.
Avoid the mapped route that uses the Beaverdale traffic circle. Just stick to the river trail out of Hespler.

Love this trail, I hike it a couple times out of the week.

Great trail for an entire family to do. very flat, and lots of great scenery along the Grand River.

Trails are labeled with signs here so it’s abit confusing to no where you actually are. Beautiful spot will go back on a less rainy day when I have company so I’m not getting lost alone.

Very pretty, and within walking distance of home. Only opposite ends are accessible due to construction work but it was more than enough to wear out my 12 week old high energy pup! I look forward to hiking the whole loop with her.

You have to pay to enter.

Great biking trail, although a little flat.

I hiked it found it kind of boring for hiking but would definitely bike it!

Love this trail. All year round. Remember to hug a tree !!!

Flat trail that is good for running. On a nice day there is a lot of cyclists using the trail. The trail does run parallel to the road to a good part but you are down lower than the road so you feel like you are in the woods.

Walking along the river was nice but not much else to look at and trail was not very well kept when I visited.

Nothing spectacular. not much signs of wildlife. just a simple short walk through the park. still nice though.

Great trail done it many time and love it every time.

Nice long trail following the old electric railway line . The Preston and Berlin RR if I'm not mistaken . Follows the grand river more or less . The only people we encountered were a bunch of bums drinking by the river . They were yelling obscenities at us so we just yelled back . They weren't going to mess with two well seasoned and equipped backpacking through hikers . We were testing out some new gear that trip and it worked out well . Not a bad trek especially if you know some of the history ! K !

Certainly long enough for a good backpacking tour . Really rustic tower , with bridges across both the river and the highway . Must have cost a fortune to build . Again I'm not sure what's with the people up here but they stare and whisper as you pass . One women kept turning and staring but never said a word . I guess real hikers don't frequent this trail or people get freaked about a real rucksack . Maybe it's the real hiker swagger and the cut of my jib , just kidding . Nice happy long trek so we just smile and wave ! K !

A bit too much bike traffic to be a good hiking trail. Would definitely come back to bike though.

Nice trail. Lots of birds. Well maintained. I would have given it 4 stars except for a few detractors. 1) The constant din of traffic. 2) Its a very popular trail. I parked first thing in the morning and left around lunch. I had no trouble getting a parking spot but had I arrived any later I would have. When I went to collect my car, I saw all the spots were full and people were parking on the grass

We walked from the parking lot on King St E to 5km in and back on a Saturday midday. Took us 1hr each way. Very peaceful and quiet once you get away from the highways, and we only passed 2 other people. Beautiful walk, a bit rocky and rugged terrain. Can't go further than about 2.5km in by bike or with a stroller, I'd say.
Overall 4 stars - for a good workout and peace and quiet.

This trail is a ten out of ten . It has awe inspiring views of the river below , good shade in the summer , sparkling springs and enough distance for good backpacking or hiking . The only down sides are the land owners along the way are not friendly , a hunter was shot just off the trail ( by his own guys ) and the bicyclists think they own the trail . These bikes fly down the trail at reckless speeds and don't have bells to warn people or slower traffic , I've seen near misses more than once . Trail ten people zero ! Enjoy !!

Super simple hike. The scenery isn't that spectacular. Wouldn't go again as I wasn't in awe over it.

Awesome. Very peaceful and relaxing. Lots of open space to BBQ. We swam around the lake, using rental life jackets. Option to fish as well!

This is a rail trail and therefore wide and flat, with a fair amount of shade in the summer. It also continues on to Brantford.

Too close to houses and a bit too open.
