Algonquin Highlands, Ontario Map

This is a very short and easy hike, we did it with our small daughters with ease. Other then the normal slippery roots sticking out of the ground it's a very simple and scenic trail. The waterfall is best viewed in the winter and spring.

Nice trail with amazing views!

We did the Circuit of 5 Viewpoints, which is a 5km loop. Started with Viewpoint 5 and did the loop in reverse. Was nice because 4 was probably the nicest view, and we came upon it fairly quickly. Moderately challenging, it’s rocky with a lot of zigs and zags, ups and downs which kept it interesting and fun.

This hike was so great! So much to explore! Once you reach the lookout points the views keep getting better (3 lookout points, 6,7 &8) so check them all out before dedicating all your time to the first one!

Very short hike. It is a provincial park so you have pay to park $5.25. The hike is short but once you get to the falls, it is amazing! The powerful waterfalls crashing over the rocks is beautiful to watch. Hang out for a bit. There are portaging trains throughout the woods that follow the river if you want a longer hike. There were ZERO bugs in September. Perfect time to hike.

September 2018- very short hike along the trail. We went on a rainy day so we were the only ones on the trail. The falls are beautiful and very powerful. Watch your step!

September 2018 - a beautiful sunny day with some light wind made the perfect weather for this hike. No bugs, dry conditions, about 15•C and some of the trees were starting to change colours for fall.
This trail has some steep drops and some steep climbs. There are stunning look out points but watch your step and don’t get too close to the edge of the cliffs. The end of the trail that is marked in the app stops abruptly. We came across a cave and we weren’t sure if there were bears or coyotes but it seemed like the trail continued past the view on the map. We had a dog with us and she kept up just fine. We heard from other hikers that there were bear sightings so we made a lot of noise as we hiked the trail. We also heard coyotes howling as well. Beautiful hike! Will do it again!

Great views. Should be even better in a week or two. Easy to get to.

This is my favourite trail. I just absolutely love the variety on the trail. Amazing views lots of cardio in sections. This trail is again not suitable as a stroll around the lake in FlipFlops.
Pack lots of water.
Picture taking opportunities everywhere.

Really easy trail be aware to keep your dog on the leash. Their curiosity may get the best of them. Rather steep cliffs near the trails.
This trail wonderful in the spring. Watching the water rushing, showing nature’s forces is a wonderful experience.
Lovely trail!

Gorgeous trail! Different terrain throughout which keeps it interesting and spectacular view points!

Up and down under the canopy, need a reasonable fitness level ( uneven terrain , exposed rocks, roots etc) and steady on your feet
Overrated for distance views
Fabulous walk through the forrest

Very worth the visit, short but worth the view. A short, non marked trail extends past the falls and follows the river which is nice and has hardly any visitors.

The trail itself is easy and short (if you are looking for a good hike this one will leave you less than satisfied!) however, the falls along the river at the end makes this an awesome place to relax for a few! Climb down the rocks and enjoy the sound of the rushing water, and the view of the falls!

Beautiful views at the lookout at the top of the rock! Great variety in the trail terrain.

Great hike along the ridge of relatively untouched Highlands, with scenic views out over the canopy towards the end.

Short, easy hike with great views of fast flowing water leading down to the lake.

lots of mosquitoes and an easy hike. able to climb some rocks down for great views of the falls.

Super short, impressive falls.
Some rock climbs if you want to take the harder route/snap some photos of the falls.

great view at the top looking over the lake given that you can find a spot amongst other hikers.

Great view of the lake from the lookout especially in the evening. There are a lot of stairs to walk down after the look out point, which ok but I rather be on the ground. For that reason I only give it 4 stars.
