The top loop is nice and relaxing, wide with a gravel top, made for everyone to enjoy with a few look out points. the rest of the trail is still wide but has more natural obstacles and is sloped. The stairs between the two is a great challenge! Perfect for all uses :)

Easy walking ended up being 7.6km in length. The boardwalk makes it easy to do.

Nice boardwalk; plenty of parking at 10am; easy access to beach; many dogs were off leash on the beach. Bike trail parallel to boardwalk; access to washrooms ( some closed for the season). Western end was more scenic with views of the city and more of a hikers trail compared to the Eastern boardwalk area. A bit crowded in the boardwalk area. Less crowded in the trail areas.

Great hike, cool boardwalk around the lake. Make sure you check out the long houses.

It’s not a particularly interesting trail. Lots of poison ivy.

Nothing spectacular. not much signs of wildlife. just a simple short walk through the park. still nice though.

Nice and easy

Incredible views over looking Grimsby and the lake. Escarpment terrain gives the hike a natural landscape that gives the trial more character. The Falls are a little tricky to see because of all the vegetation but for me that’s a plus, it gives an unspoilt quality!

A long walk, flat and concrete, nice views though. Very hot on a hot day, no shade.

I love this trail. There is ample parking and a few porta potties along the route.
The trail is flat and well maintained. If you are nervous about walking alone in the woods...this trail is for you. It’s clear and there are many friendly hikers around. This doesn’t mean that you won’t see any wildlife. There are many birds including owls, coyote scat, and snakes in summer. A lovely urban-type hike.

Better for cross country skiing than snowshoeing but enjoyable all the same. River was frozen over well so we were able to venture out!

good straight trail for any need. except downhill riding, its a little to flat for that.

Waterfall was fantastic! A great place to cool off...

Hiked on late January, amazing winter trail, used icers which made tricky ice patches less of a worry, beautiful frozen river features, water flow was moving rapidly, creamy French vanilla snow and frozen ice sheets, beautiful steep rocky lookouts, for a short hike well worth to go in the winter.

Beautiful walking trail in the winter with spots to stop off and watch birds.

Very easy walk, with many deer sightings in the early mornings. Plenty of birds, rabbits, and signs of beaver everywhere. Some noise from nearby highways, but for a city trail, the wildlife is impressive.

great time cant wait till next time

great place to go in the summer is even more beautiful in the winter , found the trail to high pond lookout was a challenge but worth it

One of the best places around for a flat, scenic, paved cycling ride.
Wide, paved trail, all along Lake Ontario. Cross the drawbridge for Hamilton Bay. Several piers/lookout points, beaches and benches along the way.
Is heavily used on weekends, but wide trail still provides for good speed for cycling, rollerblading. Other times are fairly quiet and allows for 3 across cycling.

Love this trail at the Island Lake Conversation Area. This lake is man made and quite large. The trail takes you all around the lake with many bridges to cross different parts of the lake. There is no up or down hills, the 10 km trail around the lake is pretty flat. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view. Very small patches of forest to walk thru. Very well taken care off. Side parking off of Huronontario gives you free entrance. Definitely coming back here many times!

Lovely fall walking, benches along the way to stop for a break.

Pleasant views of lake creek and mini caverns, Beamers falls was an amazing rippled, gently sloped waterfall. Trail is ideal for beginner intermediate hiker.

Beautiful trail!

Nice jaunt for an afternoon. Good trail and good views

Nice to watch the salmon run.

Walked around the lake. Easy walk , even the trials through the woods. Great photo opportunities.

I wish the bridge wasn’t closed off to the public, it’s so intriguing!

Lovely, especially when you think of the natural and artistic history surrounding it. The views are pretty and the way to the bridge can be a little difficult but once you cross the trail is beautiful.

I wouldn't call this a trail by any means; it's a cycling/walking/jogging track. It does have a nice variety of inclines though, so if you're looking for a paved track while keeping an eye on your distance this is a good one.
