Fantastic hike! Highly recommended... Bring your camera!

Beautiful! Great loop. Love the board walk down.

Beautiful views and well maintained trail. We took the service road back down which is definitely the easier way to go as it is less steep.

Absolutely gorgeous views but you need to watch your feet as the trail can be rocky or soft. Very easy to twist an ankle. And yes sometimes it can be tricky to find the path. This is NOT private land. It’s a conservation area and the trail is maintained. Wonderful rocky points to climb and sit. Saw people fishing off them. Beautiful spots to watch the sunset. No services and there’s no easy way to return to your car. So plan to hike back. I went three times during my week in the area. A hidden gem b

Great biking trail! Scenic, well-groomed. Came out at Lawrencetown Beach - fantastic spot to stop and rest and then turn around and head back. Love it!

Wonderful trail with steep rugged sections and some narrow sections. fantastic view at the end.

Great hike! Beautiful views all the way, gorgeous fauna and lots of places to stop and let the dogs have some water. Loved the variation of trail from open flat rocks to short steep stints to deep forest and windy trails through lush plant life. Our dogs had no problem with this hike, just took it slow to allow for breaks and water. 3 hrs round trip with our breaks.

Amazing! Sad to see visitors trespassing on the areas clearly marked as no go zones. Pleased to see authorities tracking down violators. Remember it’s not all about you, it’s about appreciating and preserving nature.

Beautiful views. Forest floor is lush with moss and mushrooms . We were also treated to the sight of a juvenile bald eagle and a parent on a branch right above us .

Great workout and absolutely beautiful view once you get to the end! Don’t wear white shoes, it gets muddy lol

Saw a moose 10 feet away from the high traffic trail but the view at the end is absolutely gorgeous!!

Nice easy hike but I only gave it 3 stars because 6k of 9k are on the rails to trails. Nice view of Mahone Bay when you get to the top of Castle Rock.

Hiked the Split with friends who were visiting NS. Trail was in good condition although some mud and water in places. Hard packed with roots and rocks. In the trees for most of the hike and then arrive in the meadow overlooking Cape Split. Awesome view when you arrive particularly if the tide is flowing hard in one direction. We do this hike every year. Total hiking time approx 2;45 at a moderate pace.

amazing views. there walk to the trail head along the beach and the Sea stones of not fun, but the elevated views from the point are gorgeous.

this is not a moderate home anymore. 30 years ago it was a cut and maintained trail and was easy, but the ocean and severe weather has turned it into a home that requires sturdy shoes, and had some tricky spots. watch your fitting on the rocky shoreline. amazing views and one of the best hidden beaches you'll find anywhere.

Quiet and peaceful, will def be back!

herring cove is very beautiful and this trail is a great hike

a great hike with an awesome view from the top. I'm very glad I went and will be heading up there again for sure!

Just a logging road—no particular view or anything. Lead to a power plant and I honestly felt like I was trespassing. I personally wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Beaitiful and surprising trail. Babbling brooks, a small waterfall and soft moss underfoot we loved this trail. Bring a map as pays off the trail a little harder to locate. Maps at trailhead.

Beautiful old growth forest....well worth a visit

Great hike on a well marked trail. Great views.

Really enjoyed this trail, very easy hike with amazing views at the end! The trail itself was relatively well marked and very easy to follow. I began my hike around noon on a Saturday in peak tourist season and had the trail all to myself. Definitely worth the slight detour off the Cabot Trail - I would highly recommend to everybody!
