Beautiful trails and heritage buildings. A little muddy at points but that is to be expected for this time of year.
A couple trails were marked Use At Own Risk because they are not maintained during winter but if you are able bodied they were still great for walking.

Very good trails to take dogs for a good exercise. 10/10 would recommend!

My favourite trail in the Sydney area. Beautiful views of the ocean, many places for rest if needed, many potentially beautiful pictures to be taken, although pictures never do it justice!!! :)

2nd try at this trail. Quite icy and flooding under ice in many parts so had to detour around here and there but nice hour hike overall.

I lived in Prospect Village for years and just love the area. It's just beautiful in all seasons. Hiking is especially pleasant in summer. The trail is often cool due to wind off the water and fog. Layers are highly recommended,as well as sunblock and a good tied on hat...wind and sun can be strong. Getting close to the water can be dangerous. Be wary of waves and dark, slippy rocks. The tide can come in quickly. Beautiful spot to visit.

Beautiful hike! I did trailrun it this Tuesday, my 2 friends hiked it. We were the only 3 people on the trail. There was a mix of snow and ice on the trail but easy enough for us to run/hike. At the end, the snow was almost gone; we had extreme wind, though. I'll definitely run it again!

Thoroughly enjoyed a 6 km hike in the park today. most of the trails are clear of ice and snow with the exception of the left side trail from the lake to the bridge. Trails were busy lots of hikers and lots of pooches. Excellent day to be in the great outdoors.

Great trail, lots of options for distances and difficulty

nice simple trail. nothing too challenging and provides awesome views of the area. I found that there was an abundance of mosquitoes though.

this trail has by far the best views on the island. somewhat easy hike doable by most people. I highly recommend this trail. beware of wildlife, its not uncommon to run into moose and coyote are known to be in the area. very busy trail.

this while not a hiking trail this was a huge part of my childhood every year (many times) going to swim at Mary Ann falls. in good weather it's a load of fun. easy walk down from the parking lot and stairs right down to just about near the water.

one of the more challenging on-trail hikes of cape Breton. parts are rocky that could arguably be a scramble but mostly a steady incline with a amazing view at the very top. one of my favorites.

Beautiful streams and a lake along the way, then a stunning finish.

An amazing spot for some wicked views! You won’t want to miss the tide coming in and going out, it’s like two different places. It’s one of my favourite places actually, and the dogs love it too!

Snow and ice.

Went snowshoeing on this loop today. Absolutely beautiful! There were a couple tricky bits because it was all ice under the newly fallen snow, but nothing risky.

Nice trail hike. Well marked. Snow covered, used trail cramp ons and poles for balance. Allow at least a couple hours for this hike....beautiful.

Very easy and short trail but a beautiful green space nonetheless. Good for a quick stroll with the pup or just to get some fresh air.

Very short. A cold night.

I did it twice. Once in July 2018 and the second time was in October 2018. It was much more enjoyable in October because I was essentially the only one climbing up and didn't see anyone else on my way down. It was also much cooler and the trees were so pretty. I took so many pictures. It took me about 2h30 there and back and I was going at a normal pace. I am not an experienced hiker and I was able to do it

High recommend the trail.

This is a gem of trail located within the city. We were glad we had our trail crampons and hiking poles as most of it was ice covered. It's not well marked, but luckily we met someone coming in the opposite direction and followed their tracks.
We are definitely going back to explore the rest of the trail system.

Beautiful day. Did the extended loop to smelt brook lake. Cleats were useful as there was some ice.

Nice day for a walk around the reservoir. Definitely need to wear ice cleats on footwear to get around it today which we had. First half of trail is through the woods. Last half of trail is on a woods road. With icy conditions all around took us 2.5 hrs to complete. Rate this between easy and moderate. Best part of the hike was listening to the ice moving in the reservoir. Sounded like someone beating a drum! Pretty cool. Will do it again in fall.
