Hi everyone,

Before I get to the review, I just wanted to direct you to my YouTube video of my experience here at Long Lake Provincial Park. Simply go to youtu.be/PxGNBHnov-I

It was a fun day, and it would be great to share my experience with you!

Long Lake Provincial Park is a short 10-15 minute drive from the city. Located near a subdivision, this is a popular spot to visit. Since this place is close to the city, they did make sure to ensure ample parking.

There are several trails from the parking lot (one goes right, and one goes left). We ended up going left during our trip. The paths are well maintained and follow the lake. I found as though the trail intersections could have been better labelled, as we had a bit of an issue finding the correct one back to the car.

You can access the lake in several different spots where you can swim if you'd like. The only ones in the lake when I was there were a couple of doggie friends!

There is no admission, and as far as I'm aware, no services - including no washrooms.

Trails are easy

Hope this was helpful, and I hope you check out the video to get a better sense of this park!

This Trail is part of the Long Lake Provincial Park, it is an upgraded trail for all users. As it is a provincial park dogs must be on leash and owners must cleanup after their dogs.

Such a cool spot!! Lots to explore and take pictures of, and a little tricky to get to the water because they’ve blocked off quite a bit bit you’ll find the way!

Good and on the harder side and can make it shorter by just going to skull rock which is just off the trail!

Snow packed today which made it a bit more difficult. Will definitely try again in better walking conditions

a great spot to walk and see some historic forts, monuments etc. not overly challenging and good for running

Very quiet trail, usually only see about 2 or 3 people each time I go there. My dog loves it and there's a few areas that are just a huge field so I usually bring the brisbee!

Can get pretty windy near the water some days (if you choose to add on Poor's farm road to your hike) but it's beautiful!

Nice trail system and that has crushed gravel, good for running with several small hills. Close to the road so you hear a lot of traffic, also a lot of dog droppings..

I walk this trail every weekday morning with a group of men and it is perfect for our group. The trails are kept in excellent shape and better yet the park keepers are a very friendly lot. We walk for an hour or so, then it is off to Tim's for social time. This fall there was a concerted effort to make the trails free of obstacles. So it should be quite ideal for skiing if we get snow that stays.

Very easy walk lots of places to sit and rest. Shops al alongside. Not the greatest place to take a dog unless well trained and very social.

We went at a steady pace and completed the loop in 3 hours. It would be easy to spend a lot longer at all the look offs. Great views.

Super, lots of views and a good workout with ups and downs. Come prepared with boots, food and water. Did it on 7 October.

Mountain bike the double track, Easy to moderate but it get a technical and fun with the side single track you can jump off and on.

Trail description should include Spider Lake reference.

Was a bit confusing to navigate at first because you need to connect to another trail before reaching Fox Head Trail. There were some orange spray paintings and some signs here and there to guide you though! We kept going where it said Fox Lake, and didn't check out the Look off part, which I now regret! A few other trails all interconnect so you can choose a shorter or longer trail. The route we took to and from Colins Rd was about an hour and 15 mins. Again, we may not have gotten the whole experience. Nice area though close to the city :)

The sign isn't joking when it says to budget 45min/km. Worth every minute, absolutely stunning views.

Great walk with the dogs :)

Great trail!

Great spot! Trail is clearly marked and easy to follow. Took about 3 hours to complete and says it's only 5.5 km

Beautiful trail, but no marking!

In my opinion this is more of a biking trail. All paved and well maintained. Not much in regards to scenery. A few major road crossings take away from something a hiker may want to experience. I rated this 3 stars as a hiker but would probably give it 5 as a biker.

Nice hike ending at flat lake!

We went to McNabs for an overnight camping trip and it was great! The water taxi picked us up in Eastern Passage and brought us to a beach on the island. We hiked the whole island and got to see many cool things (fort, battery, cannons). Highly recommend this trip :)
