Did it with my dog on a sunny Tuesday afternoon and only saw 2 other hikers and a few people fishing. Beautiful views. Not marked but easy to follow. Many parts of the trail are overgrown and you’re walking through tall grass, etc so if you’re concerned about ticks I’d wear long pants. Several geocaches out there.

Well! This hike is special. We did it with gear as we were camping there, which definitely added to the challenge. That first hill! Much of the trail is extremely overgrown and there is some awkward blowdown to squeeze through. The trail is quite easy to follow. We went on a weekday and there was only one other hiker camped there! I would not do this on a weekend... There is quite a lot of garbage left behind in the Cove, which is really disappointing. Such a majestic place.

Very incredible view there. It's quite overgrown in some places and there are spiky bushes, so wear pants. The begining of the trail is the steepest climb you'll get on that trail. Horses are there at the end. Took 5 hours in and out. Good for a day hike.

July 2020. Prospect, Nova Scotia. Coastal trail along the shoreline. View of ocean, boats and seabirds. Rocky and dirt paths, some mud, some overgrowth (waist high bushes but path still visible). Mostly low level vegetation, very open, no shade. Busy during sunset near start of trail.

My wife and I hiked in on July 18, excellent day for hiking 18 degrees and overcast. We stayed for lunch about an hour and then hiked out in the afternoon. 3 hours 20 minutes in and 3 hours 40 out, rose bushes in full bloom! Lovely walk!

First camping trip and certainly not my last. An extremely rewarding experience and excellent exercise. It was definitely quite crowded but everyone seemed respectful of eachother and the horses. Approximately 12 different camp sites setup across the cove. (Something like 30 cars when we pulled up but passed by approximately 5 groups leaving.) A beautiful sight that everyone should see but hopefully it doesn't become overcrowded and face negative consequences. Will probably leave extra space in my bag next time to carry out litter. Will certainly be returning, hopefully for an extra night, I'm sure it would be beautiful in the fall.

We hiked it two years ago and had a great time, there were 2 other campsites the same night and that was like the normal busy time (didn’t have the place to ourselves) Camped there Saturday night and there were 30 other campsites. (30 tents) Way overcrowded, not a maintained campground, no bathroom facilities. If it continues to be so busy it’s going to be gross. Even the poor horses had like 30 groups of people bugging them (including us) and less room to come down to the river. Won’t be back. *edit: and I LOVE pollets cove.

Just a warning that I did this trail last Sunday with my dog and she came home with 10+ porcupine quills in the side of her face. Also very overgrown and bushy trail - would recommend pants and hiking boots.

This was an amazing trail. It’s challenging, with lots of uphills and downhills, beautiful coastal views, and lots of creeks (7!). It took us 2h20min one way and we did the out and back in one day. We spent just over an hour in the cove. By the time we got back to our car we were tired but it was doable. The views all along the way are amazing and Pollet’s cove is magical. Well worth it. I recommend long pants due to the overgrown bushes and have a hat handy as there are exposed stretches and it gets hot. We heard a coyote and were told there was a bear with two cubs closer to the cove so definitely pack up gear in case you encounter wildlife.

Beautiful hike and incredible place to do an overnight trip. A few parts of the trail were quite overgrown so definitely wear pants. There’s a muddy patch just up from the river that was pretty unavoidable so keep that in mind. Wish I had stayed more than one night and will definitely be back!
