Awesome views. Took us about 3hrs to hike it! It is dog friendly but the trails can be steep and they are skinny trails.

definitely my favorite coastal trail with lots of elements, you will never get bored aha!

I did only a small portion but what I did was easy and enjoyable

Good trail for young kids

Not a whole lot to see. Trail is poorly marked, but is a moderately easy walk out and back.

hiked it today really enjoyed the scenery, the only thing I would say is wear good hiking boots as there ate alot of rooots which makes it easy to twist an ankle

Easy walking on good paths. Informative interpretative center and good sea views.

Good for a rest day hike. You may even see a Moose if you go early enough.

Nice trail, work up a good sweet!!

We loved this trail - the Great Oak Loop was a great little hike with our 3 year old! Lots of spots to stop and rest, take in the view and play in the lake.

Good hiking trails. However, if there were any markers, I did not notice any. could not find my way around the lake.

Agree with all the other reviews - great trail, spectacular views. My second favourite walk in the Cape Breton park!

If you want a short walk round the lake, this is fine. However, trail from lake to cove is completely blocked by multiple fallen trees around the 1.9 km mark (from start) with no obvious way round. Which is a shame as I was quite enjoying the trail.

Great short hike with rewarding elevation changes, ocean views, a magical forest, and a few secret paths that you should explore. it is not EASY.. the trail requires rugged shoes, is very uneven in places, and the stones on the beach can be very hard to walk along, watch your step.

Awesome hike. Views were spectacular!

Beautiful view but just half of way was opened.

Great trail for a brisk walk !!

Hiked this and loved it. Previous comments about path being overgrown are bang on. In fact on north side, path is almost impassable in places - so do this side first or prepare for a demoralising second half!

Fairly straightforward mostly level trail to waterfall. Lots of shade - welcome on a hot day. We saw a bald eagle in flight over the valley too.

Lovely hike to a lovely waterfall. Nice and short, does what it says on the tin. Camping/ picnic area a great spot for lunch.

Hiked here on a gorgeous September morning. Top tip - even in September, arrive early. Just after 8 we had the boardwalk to ourselves to watch the porpoises and pilot whales have breakfast. Bring your binoculars!

Best Nova Scotia hike I’ve done to date! Wear suitable hiking shoes, as it can get rocky. Hardest part is the distance, but still not a very difficult hike. Beautiful views that make it worth the trip. There’s a beach you can access (via a piece of rope) not too far from the summit. Good place to go rock hounding for quartz! Strongly recommend if you’re east coast Canada

Very user friendly for all ages. Dogs allowed on leash. Tracks water's edge.

I went after a big rain so it was a little soupy close to the lakes but someone had put down logs to walk across in most parts and even made a makeshift bridge out of fallen branches. I recommend going for sure, more of a moderate to easy hike and the trail is well walked on and easy to follow
