Great workout and absolutely beautiful view once you get to the end! Don’t wear white shoes, it gets muddy lol

Hiked the Split with friends who were visiting NS. Trail was in good condition although some mud and water in places. Hard packed with roots and rocks. In the trees for most of the hike and then arrive in the meadow overlooking Cape Split. Awesome view when you arrive particularly if the tide is flowing hard in one direction. We do this hike every year. Total hiking time approx 2;45 at a moderate pace.

amazing views. there walk to the trail head along the beach and the Sea stones of not fun, but the elevated views from the point are gorgeous.

this is not a moderate home anymore. 30 years ago it was a cut and maintained trail and was easy, but the ocean and severe weather has turned it into a home that requires sturdy shoes, and had some tricky spots. watch your fitting on the rocky shoreline. amazing views and one of the best hidden beaches you'll find anywhere.

herring cove is very beautiful and this trail is a great hike

Great hike on a well marked trail. Great views.

Fantastic scenery! No direct path so you get the opportunity to explore the rocks.

Amazing trail!! We had great weather with no rain but high humidity. Stayed at Refugees Cove and Seal Cove both had swimming beaches which was great as it was mid-July when we were on the trail. Highly recommend!

Amazing coastal views. We did the trail clockwise and it was incredible how the scenery changed around the halfway point and we weren't expecting it. Bring a sweater or a windbreaker as it is particularly windy on one side.

Fantastic trail do not miss it. A short walk to see a great view. I mountain biked it and had a great time. Some great cliffs & rock formations.

Absolutely amazing views! Some of the best on the Cabot trail! A must see!

Great trail for hikers of all levels. The end of the trail is a beautiful lookout and is spectacular to see, especially for somewhere so close to the city. Make sure to keep to the left when you start out on the trail as it can be easy to get off the main trail veering ever so slightly right and you’ll get into some thick brush.

Beautiful spot for an afternoon hike. I went when it was quite foggy, but the cliffs still provided amazing scenery. The main path is quite easy, but I went off the main path in some parts to walk up some of the rock. I would recommend waterproof hikers because there are a few spots on the main trail that can be quite muddy. Lots of rocky spots to stop and eat lunch with a view of the ocean. The trail isn’t marked so you many need gps to find the start of the trail.

Wonderful hike with so many changes from the path, to the board walk, and along the rocks. Wet ground today through the woods but worth it coming around to the beach. Very easy but you need good shoes for walking the rocks. Missed this hike last year when a man was returning up and said there were bears ahead and I might want to just walk to the beach.

Beautiful trail beautiful scenery! Rated as hard and it is but well worth it. Did the trail in 3 days but would probably opt in doing it in 4 next time to enjoy it more. Refugee cove and Seal cove campsites were perfect! Would recommend for sure!

Gorgeous lookouts, you can do it as a loop, peer down into the little coves to see large groups of purple jellyfish, lovely sound of shorebirds at the end

Beautiful spot especially when you walk the rocks close to the water's edge

Great trail. The first part along the beach is not the best way to start the trail, as it is quite long and not that beautiful... but lots of different paths and views are amazing ! Also not a lot of people so you get time to enjoy the trail on your own !

Perfect trail to use as alternative to urban hiking. Water views are very nice and historical significance to the area adds to appeal.

Stunning landscape views and one of my fav spots so far with our travels. Far from the maddening crowds...
Parking has only a few spots.

Great trail. Easy to miss the small parking area suitable for only a couple cars. Short hike but the landscape and views are great!!

Continuation of the Salt trail. Amazing with cycling!

Beautiful place! when you turn left on the beach you can observe seals. Only wonder why is moderate since its so easy.

Beautiful location, especially in the early morning for the sunrise and seeing the cruise liners coming the Halifax port. Dog Friendly off leash before 9am I believe. Trails are well groomed and water view on three sides of the park.

great hike lovely and quiet

Beautiful trail. Easily accessible for the whole family. The first portion (the beach) is not representative of all the nice things you can see along the way.
