Steep sections but worth it.

It's ok. When you get to the top the view is very limited by the trees. Still an enjoyable, peaceful hike.

No lookouts until the very top.
Only one running stream which I would not recommend drinking out of.
Would have been nice to have more clearing on top to have a view of the windmill farms.
From Hayward road the climb start immediate with two to three short flat areas.
Best to do with Trek Poles.

Great loop for running if you don't mind the incline.

It was amazing!! No joke about the climb and my calves screamed at me for a while until they got used to it. But It was so lovely. had the trail to ourselves all the way there. When leaving the peak there were some atv riders, and met a couple on the way down.

I totally underestimated this trail when they say moderate they mean moderate. Be prepared to hike uphill for the first 30 mins or more. Wear proper footwear unlike me who wore birkenstocks!

Trail is marked very well. No complaints. A bit more of an incline then I was expecting. I will definitely walk it again.

You need land owner permission to access the private road past the white gate. If you do not have their permission it is about 15 km in and back.
We love this trail and try to do it yearly. It is a lovely walk through the woods for the majority of the walk. It is not until the last km or so that you are walking up a steep granite dome. However once you reach the top it is magnificent! We heard loons in all throughout the evening and early morning . It was magical. The light pollution is little, so perfect for night photos. You can see the city of St John and the Bay of Fundy in the distance.

Love this trail. Steep in sections with loose rocks. We hike this trail every year. It is beautiful all year round. In hunting season be sure to wear orange. The view at the top is not what it was years ago due to overgrown alders but still it is a lovely walk

Steep initial section with transition to level ground then another steep section before the trail levels out toward the summit. Final 100m to the summit is quite steep as well, but the view at the top is certainly worth the effort.

Nicely maintained trail that is easy to follow. The view at the top is limited from tree growth but it is still a nice view from what you can see. On the back side you can also get a glimpse of the windmills.

This trail is a great way to get to know the city of Saint John! It has many informative plaques about the history, ecology and other sites along the trail. It leads you right from downtown up to the Reversing Rapids where the river actually runs backwards at high tide. We saw harbor seals and many ocean birds along our walk. We also took a detour up to Fort Howe to get a great view over the city and the harbor.

The view from the top is so worth the trek uphill.
