The trail is easy to follow. NOTE: the bear hang at the campground is not in good shape. Most of the hooks are broken take extra carabiners to help secure your food. Only five campsites not six. We did find the sixth eventually but it is not usable. There is a fire pit and outhouse.

Bird Watching

Nice. Can be crowded. A little too urban for me. Usually some nice birdwatching

Hiking

Quite steep in parts, poles would help, hiking boots essential. great view of mountains, lovely fall colours at base before hike begins. Need bone dry conditions (would be awful if wet)

HikingGreat!

Great hike and very easy for kids (9yrs) the trail could have been marked a little better because we missed the loop and walked from the river up to the lookout and just walked back to our cars up the road. Start early as it gets super busy in the late morning/afternoon. The falls were incredible!

Did this hike Sept 20th and got to the trail head at 6:30am to avoid crowds. My husband and I had the trail to ourselves and our 2 dogs. As mentioned, Helen Lake isn’t super spectacular, but as you continue upward the views of the Wapta and Bow Glacier are spectacular - and you can see Bow Lake and what I think is Peyto Lake in the distance. Easy hike until the last stretch.lots of people at the lake on the way down - we were glad to have an early start and summit to ourselves.

Trail could be marked better. It’s a bit sketchy walking close to the highway. I don’t think it’s an easy trail as there is some climbing required and there are trees down on the trail. On the plus side the view is awesome.

One loop or multiple options on this trail that is used for cross country skiing in the winter. This place is stunning in the fall and often used for family portraits so dress to match and click your annual shot!

It was great! Went on Aug. 1st, and it wasn’t buggy at all! Took many breaks, but we did it in 4,5 hours with a short lunch break. Bring a jacket for up top, because it gets chilly. Very well kept trail

Amazing hike today with spectacular views of the snowed-in landscape! Very quiet, only saw a couple other people from the distance. Had to turn back at 2,900, just below the peak, as the scree was getting too slippery in the fresh snow, and our dog’s paw was slightly bleeding. Up to that point though, the trail was fully dog-friendly. Side-note to people who like hiding squashed plastic water bottles under neatly arranged rocks: the bottle will still take 1,000 years to decompose, so take your f*g bottle back to the car! Should be lighter then when you brought it in the trail full of water...

Hiking

The trail from Tew Falls to Dundas Peak was fairly easy to complete. Were not expecting iron spiked fence around the viewing platform, yet still enjoyed the fall colours. In regards to the admission fees, not sure why people have to pay per person charge on top of the car parking fee and the booking fee. Weird.

Mountain biking

Did the loop today to Banff, then down the legacy trail. Good dry conditions on a 20-degree day. Highway was windy, but the ride through the forest broke it up. No signs of wildlife except for at the very end back by the Nordic Centre, Good course for beginner-intermediate riders. A bike with some sort of suspension is highly recommended. Trail is mostly a gravel path with patches of rocks for the majority of the trail, then lots of roots once you hit the forested area after the golf course. Hated every second of the challenge riding up Hwy 742 at the start, gravel path was fun, the ride around the golf club was relaxing, and it was nice to finish off the route with the EKG trail through the woods!

Hiking

I hiked this today. You can drive in to this 'trailhead' quite easily, at least this time of year. I had a Toyota Highlander but could have done it with less today. We hiked in by the ATV road all the way and came back by the foot path. It is longer on the ATV road involving switchbacks and the footing is not as good for hiking. The elevation gain is 200 m which compares well with the topographical map. It took about an hour in then an hour back. Little Salmon is one of the real gems of the Fundy Footpath and this is a lovely place for a short hike. It is a bit challenging but could be done by most hikers although they may need to take more time and they will complain more with the ascent out of the river. The forest is a rain forest with moss and high humidity beneath the canopy. A lovely hike at 20 degrees C!

Hiking

If you’re planning to hike during the fall colours time (or any time, honestly), head up early i.e. by 9:00 am or you’ll be overwhelmed with people. The steeper route 2 and 5 are also less traveled and much more fun. 5 also provides a pleasant lookout over Baldwin’s Pond.

Since a lot of ATV's go through trail, there are a few rutted areas with big pools of water. some parts of trail had too much grass for my liking...makes me nervous with ticks. No great views.
