Great trail to ride to either Birds Hill Park or to Lockport from the parking lot @ Hall Rd & Garven Ave. Head out in the morning before the sun gets hot and the wind picks up. Remember this is a multi use trail so be aware of people and their dogs, both on & off leash.

Nice views of sand dunes. Windy path kept things interesting. Great amount of shade. Not very challenging but pleasant to do.

Good trail. Wide gravel/rock trail. Minimal mud holes (unfortunately). some flooded spots due to beavers, but easily passible

.

It is not "near Benito"...it is on Thunderhill. This is a glitch by the All Trails site not the people who uploaded the info.

so beautiful and quite, a quick little canoe around the lake made the whole day so much fun :D

This is a pleasant walk through the forest on well-maintained and signed trails, but there is little in the way of scenic reward or challenge.

The trail is maintained in good shape. While signage appears to be missing, if you pay careful attention to the map, the route is fairly obvious. Overall very scenic, with more elevation change than most trails in southern Manitoba.

Tried the hike on May 31, 2018. Parked at the fork of the snowmobile traile/maintenance trail. Northbound was closed due to a closed road sign stating bridge was out. Westbound was closed due to fire risk sign.
Tried walking to river. Once I got there, bridge was out and no way to cross the river. Did not try to bush wack to a possible crossing so not sure if there are options. So until river goes down or bridge is replaced I would not recommend

The trail itself is really great, the signs can be a bit misleading though. There is high lake eco cabin signs that’s seem to be the direction to the trail as well. Without the map on this app I would have been lost pretty fast. I find the signs aren’t that helpful.

Once on the trail though it was for sure beautiful and would for sure do it again.

It is a pretty park like setting with beautiful birds filling the air in song, easy to walk, and for the most part rubbish free. Unfortunately, there are too many soaking wet dogs off leash trying to shake or rub on you. I would not go back

Excellent trail!

Excellent hiking trail in the summer and cross country ski trail in the winter! Will not disappoint!!

Very peaceful walk, generally runners use it so you’ll probably pass a couple people. Love walking my dog here.

Love this trail. Have to cross river on foot...wear good shoes and take a walking stick. Make noise to let bears know you are in their neighbourhood.

Fun and easy trail

good easy trail to ease the kids back into hiking. trails are well kept, and the play ground along the way was a lot of fun and a great place to stop for a picnic

Home to small-sized perch. Access is tricky in the summer as the trail is a natural path through the forest and there are no markers of any kind. Best visited in the winter months as there is a short trail adjacent to West Watjask Lake.

Ah the Museum Trail! An absolute favorite, the trail is grassy so it's great in spring when it's wet, cool and shady in the summer, protected from winter winds, and so stunning in the fall. I'm my dog and I have trekked on this trail hundreds of times. There is a cross country snow shoe trail, a groomed cross country ski trail, and the added bonus of wandering around the museum grounds looking at all the old buildings. A beautiful setting and easy to access. If you take your dog (s), there are garbage bins and doggie bags for picking up poop, so PLEASE use them!! Keep our trails clean!

I have walked this trail many many times. It is one of my favourite places to go, especially with my dogs. It is so close to town, takes just minutes to get there, and yet it feels like you are 'out in nature".
One of the best things about Swan River!

One of the Best Views in Manitoba!

This road can be a little rough with some rocks and a few large potholes. But if users stay off it when it’s wet the road is pretty good. I’ve got my minivan in there in the fall with no problems. Great walleye lake when their biting!

I love the Transcona Bioreserve. Can almost forget you're in the city hiking / biking these trails. Lots of wildlife to see and different areas to explore (bring your camera). The Bioreserve is fun to hike all year long with well maintained trails.

Nice trail close to the city for biking and hiking. Perfect way to get to Birds Hill Park (no traffic). My advice is bring lots of water and wear a hat / sunscreen during the summer months. Dress for the weather. Not much shade or shelter.

Best time of the day to do the East section of the trail is first thing in the morning. AWESOME sunrise views over the floodway.
