I would recommend this trail but bring something good for mosquitoes. these like devil's are going to have a buffet. Deet has not much effect on them. Lol

Trail is well kept, short grass for the most part. The creek was tricky to cross (3 times) as there is still quite a bit of water. Lots of ticks.!

It is very beautiful but we ran into a creek half way through so we couldn't do the whole trail. Be sure to wear socks, shoes and long pants this time of year because ticks are in full force and ants are biting. My bf had on flip flops and had them all over his feet the whole hike. Yikes.

Slightly muddy in some parts, not too busy for a Saturday. Great, easy walk.

Moderately busy on a sunny Sunday. Lovely river views. Wide trail with some muddy parts. Overall a nice, easy walk.

Heading North on the right hand side is completely dry for 3/4 of the loop. When you finish the elm loop and meet up with the grape loop, if you continue on the elm loop it is very mucky and flooded in some areas. Definitely recommend at that point sticking to the wild grape trail back at that point, closest to the prairie.

Great trail! Beautiful views of the river. We didn’t even run into any other humans on the trail! Starting to get mosquitoes!

Beautiful trail, well maintained, a bit muddy at the Elm end of the trail but really enjoyed it.

Knee-waist deep creek running through the trail that you must cross twice. Water levels may fluctuate with the seasons.

Portion along the river is dry but once you get into thicker forest it gets extremely muddy.

Beautiful trail. The river side portion was a good quality flat dry mud path. The forest portion was muddy but still enjoyable with rubber boots.

Flooded, probably better later in the year.

Good for the most part but the last section of Elm was flooded. Be prepared to get wet.

Great trail. Started on the wild grape switched to elm and back again. Flooded in spots. Most mud can be avoided. Trails were getting crowded near the end of our hike.

The trail was nice, however it was flooded and muddy. I had rain boots so I made it through.

Nice views of the river. Saw robins, ducks, vultures, and a squirrel. Most of the trail is muddy. Some parts are flooded and impassable. It is possible to detour around the worst part.

The hike overall was great! The last part was underwater though.. ended up taking a short cut to avoid very deep water.. not the best time of year to check it out due to melting.. still enjoyable.
