Easy hike for those looking to get into the activity. More of a nature walk than anything else. Very crowded on the weekends and during peak season.

We did it December 8, 2019, icy trail from Barrier Lake to Garibaldi Lake, 3 hours up and almost the same amount of time down. Wonderful trail and beautiful lake in early winter. May go there again in deep winter.

Awesome beautiful hike in the snow season! Definitely recommend spikes of some sort for your boots. As of right now, snowshoes aren’t needed. Mostly packed down snow with a little icy patches sticking out in some spots. If you decided to hike further to the ink pots, be ready for some incline! Happy trails!

Great hike today with eagles crying out through the trees and the trail in good (not muddy) condition. Be cautious on the wooden sections- no grates on-top and VERY slippery

The warmer temps this week seemed to have melted the ice and snow away. A bit slick in spots because of recent rain, but we made it to the peak and enjoyed some gorgeous views before the clouds set in. Definitely a steep trail and one I wouldn’t want to do in freezing temps with ice on the trail!

The way up is already very exhausting for inexperienced hikers. The path was almost completely frozen from Barrier Lake and very slippery. We were without spikes on the way and unfortunately had to break off to the bridge to Garibaldi lake, because it was too smooth and therefore too dangerous. The lake seems almost completely frozen, but in some places still open.

Awesome simple little trail. Pretty busy, but still lots of wild life and spectacular views.

This is really a mountain biking area. Lots of ferns and curvy trails with nice views down over Ford Creek. I would like to come back someday to hike up the Gloria trail where the views are out over the valley. Probably would need eight hours.

Did the orange loop. Trail is good but still slippery in spots make sure to have proper foot wear.

This was a great winter trail for beginning of December! Well trafficked and not too much trudging through snow. Great views not too much elevation gain.

This beautiful gem of a trail really got the sweat going for the size of it. Road is not maintained .5 of a mile to trailhead from main road. Looks to be well used trail with excellent views, would like to see in the fall. Trail inclines pretty good

Nice quiet trail. Narrow path. Very close to river. Sign up for hunting year around.

Beautiful winter hike! Incline was very gentle with a couple steep sections. the waterfalls were frozen over beautifully. Had great photo opportunities. went early morning and the trail was lightly trafficked. By 1130am large groups were traveling up the hills.

The first 5kms of the hike had quite a bit of ice and I would strongly recommend studs or something similar for traction (crampons would be overkill as the ice is patchy). The remaining trail to the hut is covered in snow but the snow is compacted from other users. I brought snow shoes but did not use them at all. The lakes are covered in ice and snow. The hut was warm with a fire place, stove top, tables, hooks for drying clothes, and bunks.
