Great trail. Icy at the bottom so micro spikes are recommended. Deep snow around the lake and up the ridge so gators are recommended. Need to go up the ridge on the right side of the trees to go all of the way up. Lots of people were going up the left side but then you get stuck and have to go down to the right & back up again.

Really lovely walk. Lots of people on the trails closer to the falls, but if you do the beaver trail loop it's not heavily populated at all. Lots of trails to choose from for all abilities, great place to start for beginners!

Nice views over the lake when the trail is accessible. Sometimes trail is not usable because of crop not being cut

Went off route but really enjoyed the day starting with the dam to then enjoy the fish hatchery

Good hike if you haven’t been to Banff. The lakes get more beautiful if you start at lake 1. At some places on the trail you are very exposed to the wind. The forest is nothing special, there are a lot of dead trees that are squeeking. The trail is muddy at the beginning, but gets better in the middle. The water of the lakes have a pretty colour.

Very beautiful view from the top. Definitely continue the trail up the backside to overlook both lakes. The view is gorgeous from up rope and worth the climb. There is a sign that says enter at your own risk but it’s not icy at all. Very gorgeous!

Beautiful hike. There was some snow and ice so it’s better to take spikes or hiking poles. The lake is already frozen, looks magical!

Really fun! It’s a breeze for someone who’s moderately fit (we were jogging in most stretches). Only a few steep sections mostly near Lake 1 and Lake 5. We saw a bear at Lake 3 (luckily across the lake from the trail).

The trail was great. It was not slippery.

Nice easy walk.

A nice hike.

I would say this is an easy trail, not moderate. There are some small hills but nothing too difficult. It’s lovey though. And a nice opportunity to sit on the beach halfway through

This beatiful trail traverses all sorts of terrains going through the Hemlocks and Hardwoods and follwing a small trail. It is the full backpacking experience and really gets to you. I took 4 days but if you are trail running I could see it taking only 2. The cabins in the second half make it so much nicer. The marshes it goes through makes it rough with the mosquitoes, black-flies, horse-flies, and deer-flies. This extreme hike made my summer. Would do again!

I’d rate this a 3.5. More of a quad trail than hiking trail. Great if you need an accessible route but not challenging.

Beautiful short trail. Don’t go right after a snow storm like I did or it would rate difficult. Really nice scenery and super accessible.

Overall a good hike! Trail has spots of mud and ice so good shoes are necessary. Only made it up to the first lake as the trail to keep going wasn't marked and noone else we asked went further

nice clean trail

Great trail. Hiked on October 14th and conditions were good. No snow, ice, or mud to worry about. Unfortunately, the more difficult trail was closed and we only hiked to the 2 Grassi lakes as it wasn’t clear where/if we could go further. Overall, great path and views. Not going to lie... I would say this is moderate. Short, but moderate incline. There were some older people and families that seemed to be having some difficulty.

What a beautiful spot for Thanksgiving day hike. Nice wide, unobstructed trail. Sturdy boardwalks and natural path is well maintained. There are also several bridges so you can do a shorter hike if you want. Many parts accessible for strollers or wheelchairs. Just lovely right now with the leaves changing colours.
