Beautiful lake but to popular

Rad, challenging hike. I'm athletic enough but work a desk job and don't get out as often as I like, so the first 1/4 of this one was a bit of a winder - once you settle in to a good pace, though, just take in the beautiful surroundings and drink enough water, the views along the way and at the top are worth it!

Amazing hike, great view of the lake. Not busy at all!

Would rate as intermediate, not overly difficult, just some easy technical stuff at the beginning.

Super easy trail with flat terrain and great for a quick trail run. Family friendly trail with a camp ground, playground, picnic tables and much more.

Overall, wonderful picturesque lake destination. Be aware that there are lots of boulders..... you require high ankle support hiking boots if you are camping and carrying a heavy backpack. A nice variety of terrain. Long stretch of boulders during the trek and also when arriving at the lake.... the boulders are very technical to get to the camp site. We saw lots of dogs on the trail. Oh, final thing, there is a newly painted and beautiful hut! A special shout out to the BCMC Team upgrading and working hard at making the trail enjoyable!

It was a rather hot day that we did this hike. It was well planned as the canopy & proximity to the lakes kept us nice & cool. It's more of a walk than a hike, but it was worth it.

An beautiful hike almost anyone can do, we did this one with a 5 and 3 yr old. There’s a great off shoot adventure trail for kids called Adventure Alley!

4WD HIGH CLEARANCE IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Amazing hike with a beautiful lake but do not try with 2WD

More of an easy trail, and most trafficked trail from sea to sky gondola. Views were pretty good but the amount of people on the trail might make the experience less enjoyable, try to go at a less busy time or try another trail!

Great stop on the way back from whistler if you’re looking for a rewarding view for a easy leg stretcher.

We did this hike on the way back from whistler. Didn’t take too long, great if you’re looking for sore calf’s or a natural stair master.. the views at the top on a nice day are super rewarding and worth the quick hike up!

I rate this as difficult, because there was some exposed area and scrambling required . Total route from gondola was 5 miles . Beautiful, even though heavy smoke due to fires

It was nice easy to moderate hike.

I wish there was "Godlike" rating for this trail. "Hard" rating is kind of injustice to this trail. We went in on this trail thinking if we could do mason lake and serene lake this should be doable too but we were wrong. I took us around 3 hours to reach the summit even though its just 4.5 miles.

Such a gorgeous view! I am a beginner and was still able to manage. It was really tough and I took my time; took about 2 and a half hours. I recommend going early or on a week day.

Easy going hike. Opens up access to some nice scrambling above the lake. Also a great place for a summer swim.

Fun trail with some scrambling up granite ridges and in the forest over roots and logs! Didn’t see any views due to the fog but sill a great trail and fun adventure.

Took my family to the second peak. More strenuous than I had explained to them. The chains, scrambling and awesome views at the peak made up for the up hill, multi-stair climb.

Nicely forested walk for those warmer days. Minimal elevation. Can easily add more to the walk if you want it. There's a little grove of yew trees which were a nice find and we saw a juvenile weasel on the trail. The lakes were pretty lakes, typical of the area. This is a family friendly trail.

Went on a Friday after work and saw some guys paraglide off the top at sunset. It was more challenging than I expected, but the views were absolutely worth it - even before the paragliders showed up.

Beautiful hike. Most beautiful views. I love endurance based ascends that get the heart pumping but there were a couple of sections where my heart was pumping not because of cardio... a couple of sections need ropes and have none. Didn’t enjoy that scramble. Otherwise I’d give it 5 stars but I think safety could be improved.

Came here on a sunny Thursday and met no one else the entire time

Simply amazing! There's no feeling comparable when you get to the top and look up at the falling waterfall. God's creations are truly amazing!

The trail is nothing to get excited about. It mostly follows old logging roads. I would rate the trek to the lake as moderate. The area around the lake is beautiful. Great color in the lake and it's surrounded with majestic peaks. However, it's then a average hike back to the parking lot. If you know how to drive on logging roads you will have no problem. The cross ditches are minor and shouldn't pose a challenge. Any all wheel drive vehicle will have no problem....a car was in the parking lot.

for how short of a jaunt it is from the parking lot it's pretty nice. it's hard to get a good picture of it from a photographer's standpoint.

I definitely wouldn't consider this moderate in the slightest. Pretty but not stellar views and lots of people. It's one of the more frequented hikes at the top of the Sea to Sky gondola. I don't know if it says it anywhere on the profile but you have to take the gondola to this hike unless you want to do the more strenuous Sea to Sky trail. It's half off on Saturdays after 5 during the summer!

Loved it. Challenging as it’s steep in parts. Overall well worth it!

i wanted to get a head start for sunrise and I am really bummed I couldn't make it to the trailhead. I thought I read the reviews for this hike but apparently I did not. that being said, I've uploaded some pictures of the road so others don't make the same mistake I did.

I can handle bumpy, rocky roads and maneuvering potholes, but there are small trenches in the road. by the time I reached the second one with about 5k left, i admitted defeat and drove back to town.
