The Squamish River was flowing fast; some people tried to drift across on pool inflatables. Don't do that. Some people tried to slack line across the cable. They and their packs were dangling above the river; their self-rescue took a long time. Jay, the ferryman, was in the right place at the right time. But other online comments suggest that's not always the case, and cars have been vandalized. This is a nice, steep hike with a pretty lake at the end. But the logistics of getting to the trailhead make it a Not Recommended hike. Also, the trail isn't a trail; it's a route.

Hiked it on BC family day and saw 2 people on the way up and 15 people total. Keep looking left shortly after the bridge for the trail head. I'd rank it on the easier side for a hard route.

This is a great trail that is not yet in the guidebooks. Since it starts at 1100m, your vehicle does most of the climbing for you. The road is in good condition, due to nearby active logging - up to Km 4; so expect log trucks. Recommend an AWD vehicle, but high clearance not necessary. Grades are moderate and consistent. Trail has only small muddy areas. There were mosquitoes. Large areas to explore above tree line. In late July there was no snow. This is a popular ski-touring route in the winter. The area gets much more snow than Whislter; hence the shorter summer accessible season for hiking. If hiking before July expect snow. Consider doing the 10 K hike in and staying at the Brew Creek cabin. You will not need a tent or stove; so can travel light. Register on line. Limited firewood is expensive for the volunteers to provide; so consider bringing your own.

Beautiful mossy forest, moderately challenging, and ends with a powerful waterfall. Trail is very well maintained. Don’t miss the junction to the falls or you will be hiking to Ossa/Pelion Mountain.

Awesome 3 hour hike this time of year
