I did this hike in late August, along with the side shoot off that is very close to the beginning of the trail.

The water fall is very pretty and an easy walk.

The side trail, which is much more of an undertaking, goes up for about an hour on switch backs through the forest. This part if the trail is easy to follow and pretty safe.

But .. after that you reach a yellow sign that says avalanche danger, and they're not kidding about that. The trail becomes a slightly defined line of rocks in the midst of more rocks, which like to slip out from under your feet. It's hard to keep on the trail, and getting off is pretty sketchy. Luckily the fear of being buried under a rock slide dulls any physical pain from the steep climb itself.

Once you hopefully get past the water falls you come into a valley with glaciers. The water is as blue as the cracks in the ice. Three sharp black peaks sit behind the glaciers, shrouded in clouds.

I recommend doing the first part of the trail through the forest, it's harmless enough. But unless you're very adapt at the outdoors, don't go past the yellow warning sign. And definitely don't take any animals past it.

Beautiful view, well maintained trail

not bad, just follows a road after you are past the farmer field.

Signage at the beginning wasnt very clear luckily we figured it out. Very beautiful trail!! steep for the first bit then it is easy. Took my 3 kids 14,12 and 6 and they did it no problem!

i found it not to be as worth it as i had anticipated. only got to the first lake. not truly difficult but long yes. trail needs some maitenance but nothing your legs cant handle. it was a beautiful view but i just felt it needed more

Beautiful views. The perfect length for a quick hike before breakfast :)

This trail isn’t difficult it’s just long. Lots of amazing views along the way.

Love this hike - great views of the Bulkley Valley. However, being up in the alpine where the air is a little thinner (I was also hiking during the fires in Aug/17) I found I was huffing a puffing a good amount. Perfect for a morning rise and grind. Note; the lake is bitterly cold --- go for a dip if you need a cool down but bring a towel.
