Great trail and unreal views at the top!!!

The views are incredible! Would 100% recommend bringing bug spray though.

the hike was 30km out and back from the parking lot not the stated 19km. Very difficult. bring lots of water and Gatorade and fuel snacks. took 6 girls 10 hrs

There is a high amount of foot traffic. Arrive early to find parking, and prepare yourself for lots of stairs. All culminates to a lovely view.

The town offers simple parks and gardens by the waterfront through which you can wander with ice cream, gelato, cinnamon buns, or doughnuts. Grab a seat after the hike and enjoy a beer and pizza, or rent a kayak for a few hours if you're up for more activities.

Worth a trip.

very touristy but a beautiful trail nonetheless :)

View is spectacular! The trail is not so clean with wet mud and big roots but with the challenge comes the reward. I

This is a no dog zone, because it’s part of the city water reservoir, therefore we couldn’t walk there.

July 12

I consider myself an intermediate biker and this was quite challenging for me. I’m on the smaller side at 5’ so one regular step for you might be two for me. Anyways this hike took me about four hours with plenty of breaks in between and 20 min at the top. Panoramic views are amazing and visibility was great today.

There were quite a bit of bugs so you’ll be happy to bring some repellent with you. Saw rangers putting up trail signs today. Still a lot of patches of snow. Some slushy some hard packed. Slid down some slopes instead of actual walking. You can hear the snow melting. Hiking boots will be nice if you don’t want your feet wet.

The last section that requires chains and ropes. The ropes look a bit sketchy and on the thin side. I was a little weary about one that was tied off to a branch that had some sway when pulled on but I wish they had something sturdier. Steep climb. Very dangerous to lose your footing there.

Very worth it for the views. Gorgeous. Quiet.
Next time I’ll be bringing poles. :)

Good first hike of the season, just enough incline to make it feel like a hike. Haven’t done this hike for a few years and was surprised by how busy it was in the middle of the week. Be ready for every other person hiking to be gripping their phones or texting as they are hiking. Also passed a few people with music blaring which just doesn’t seem to fit the surroundings.

Definitely get ready for an incredible hike. The mud made it so much fun. Watch the roots, but I would do this hike over and over. We took the dog and he loved it even on the leash. The shade, the views, the weather made this one of my favorite hikes. Not very busy on a Wednesday morning. Even the drive up was pretty.

Bring bug spray!!

An excellent beginner trail.

Will be great once the bridge is open again, but until then it’s not worth it - awkward, not well marked detour.

Challenging hike but extremely rewarding. Sometimes difficult to distinguish where markers and flags are heading because of the amount of trails leading to different summits or ridges. Hiked to the summit of crown on July 5th and portions of the hike were still covered in snow. A couple down hill portions of the hike are still covered in snow making it very difficult to descend. Definitely recommend hiking boots and/or crampons. Round trip just under 5 hours.

Nice easy walk through the woods; perfect for out of town guests who want a quick outdoor activity. Easy hike, great view. Can’t lose.

Took it with my kids and they all made it round trip!

Lots of markers along the trail- but be aware of alternate flagging tape leading to other summits (goat, thunder ridge, etc). Still lots of snow but it is packed down. Hiking boots are recommended as opposed to runners. No view from the summit today even though it was blue skies at the grouse chalet. Took us 2.5 hours to the summit. No snow at the final rocky part. No bugs.

A very rewarding hike. The trail is still very muddy, with snow still covering a decent sized section of the trail. Wear appropriate footwear! The trail is quite rocky, and covered in roots, so watch your step! The view at the top is stunning, and defiantly worth the hike!

Fairly easy route for a trail run. The first bit is fairly flat and smooth, while the second part gets a bit more rugged. It's a great trail to run with your dog since there is water along the entire route so they can cool off easily along the way.

Great hike. Did it today. Not much to add only that when we got out of car at the parking lot, we were attacked by a tons of tiny flies. Thought they might be mosquitoes at first but fortunately not. Don’t let it deter you as once we passed the info shed to start the hike, they all dissipated..

Grouse Grind Trail was closed for maintenance so we did the BCMC instead. Great hike. My mum and I hiked up in about 2 hours and then caught the gondola down for $15 each. Definitely recommend this hike, great views at the top and there heaps to see at the top like the Grizzly Enclosure and a bird show. Do not eat at the restaurant, not the greatest!

Good little jaunt with a great view at the end, bring a small snack/lunch and enjoy on the rock before heading back down again.

Me and my 61 year old mom did this today and for me it was not hard at all but she was very tired :) we did it very slowly, 4 hours from parking to top grouse, lots of breaks but this was quite a steep trail. We hiked with runner shoes, and no warm clothing, but it was a summer day, the forest keeps you cool.
for families or easier option I recommend Cleveland dam and capilano river.
over all great hike for forest lovers and the view from the top also amazing.
Sunday is crowded but not as the grind trail on the other side of the creek in grouse mountain.

A difficult but beautiful trail! The bugs were truly horrific so bug nets are a must. Also its a tricky to find the trail right at the turnoff from the Seymour peak trail so I recommend a map or downloading the waypoints ahead of time. Also, from the parking lot this trail was 12 km each way (took us around 5 hours each way) so was longer than expected. Very remote and peaceful but quite a slog!

We walked Dog Mountain today. There was a bit of snow at some places and a bit cloudy. When we got to the top we had a view. It was a nice day.

I did the trail today with my friend, we did three round of the trail, we ran totally 8.4km. Very easy trail and it took us 15-18 minutes for one loop about 2.7km.
