Did this hike today. Took three hours but rested for 30 min at the top. The trail crossing the bridge at first lake is closed so you’d have to go around the long way. Found this hike easier somehow with the snow as the cold air helps keep your temperature down but very wet. Highly recommend hiking shoes for the snow. It’ll be very easy to get your runners soaked !

its a busy trail. The parking is difficult but the hike is well maintained and the view is pretty great. the trail can be done in as little as 50 min there and back.

A good alternative to Grouse Grind.

Great trail. Really good taken care of

Did this hike yesterday and I was not prepared for how much snow there was! The entire trail is covered in deep snow so I would suggest bringing appropriate shoes. The dog mountain “summer trail” was closed so we were unable to get to the top. Instead we did the winter trail which was still nice but no view. We passed the first lake but that was about it. Will have to wait until more summer months to do the summer trail.

May 5. Did this hike with a couple of friends, and although we had to park in the overflow lot, we didn’t really encounter many people. One small section (less than 100m) had a bit of snow, but nothing significant. Hiked it in shorts and a t-shirt and hiking shoes, no crampons or microspikes necessary. Beautiful view, a decent amount of elevation without being an outdoor staircase (see: Grouse Grind), and the scenery along the trail made well worth the trip.

Great Hike, Though we got lost, make sure to continuously keep an eye out for the markers and don’t get too distracted by the logging road because you will end up on grouse mountain instead.

Lots of dogs, if going on weekend try to be there before 8am, otherwise it’s too crowded.

A difficult, but enjoyable hike. We stayed the night up at the lake and there were only a few other small groups up there.

Great hike. Lots of stairs at the beginning and some in the middle. The view was great but LOTS of people. Parking is also a challenge while there.

Walking up from Cap U is a little pointless. Not much to see at the bottom end of this.
Had to take detours as parts of this trail were closed. What I was able to do was fun and I'm looking forward to when this is 100% open again.

Very easy walk through the forest with gorgeous views of the forest. Anyone who is able to walk quite a while will be able to complete his trail. The water was flowing very fast when my friend I went which limited our view of the falls, however, the view of the falls wasn’t too impressive.

Very steep and somewhat boring. Still better than the Grouse Grind -- less people and less stairs, more natural terrain. Walking on snowpack for the last .5k or so, otherwise clear.

Great trail there is quite a bit of up and down but it is a rewarding view. Like others have said it gets kind of crowded. If you turn up at a busy time then you might have to jockey for position to see the view, however at the end of the trail almost at the rock there is a small ungroomed trail on the left that leads to another portion of the rock that is almost just as beautiful and it is very secluded.

One of my faves!! its aleays different every time you go. each season makes for a new experience. The look out is a pretty sweet reward =)

I wouldn't say this trail is easy. its steep at sections. beautfiul views but very busy. best time to go is during the week.

A great trail if you aren’t interested in an all day event. Lots of stairs and can get buy on a nice day. Once you get near the top you have to make sure you take the right path or you might end up continuing off to another trail. The hike could take about 1-2 hours. I have gone about 5 times now and I still love going

Hiking around Grouse is quite easy. Be careful when descending into the valley as it gets muddy sometimes and prepare for a steep climb up the other side of the valley. The peak offers breathtaking views of the whole backcountry, mount Coliseum, Seymour, the Lions, Hanes valley, local mountains, Capilano Lake and of course, the city of Vancouver.

I did this hike month ago and it was pretty fun, last kilometer took me 2h because I drawn in snow

Nicr trail, not difficult, but pretty view
