Easy Trail

I loved it for the view and the challenge. beautiful forest. but the first half is a straight up stream bed. a LOT of rocks and chances to turn an ankle.

Great quick hike but way too busy.

Challenging hike, good trail but lots of slippery stones and erosion so get ready to use your balance.

Took aprox 2 hours with my 6 year old son. Loved it. Its challenging enough and definitely more interesting than the grouse grind, which is mostly stairs and more crowded. I found it to be very well marked. It is not a hike for novice hikers though or small kids who are not used to hiking. Overall had a great experience and will be doing again with running on way down next time!

Great hike. Scenic route along the Lynn river not difficult with kids. Lots of dogs on trail.

I hate this trail with the fire of a thousand suns. The gondola was closed for seasonal work so I went up Grouse and hiked back down BCMC. It is 2 hours of poor trail marking, roots, rocks, and mud. I am giving it 2 stars as perhaps going up it is less mind-numbing.

The trail is much nicer (and less busy) once past the lookout. The rock gully in the first third was the low point. no views and lots of rain when I did it. might try the Needles on a sunny day

Lots of traffic. Too many steps but convenient and close to the city.

Really challenging but worth it. Take water with you and good hiking shoes.

Nice little trail but definitely better in Spring or Fall when it is less busy. In summer, it is super humid and pretty busy the whole way.

Nice trail and view but exceedingly busy by 10am.

Easy hike with nice views at the end.

I found it more challenging than the grouse grind even though it’s not as steep. There are more rocks and roots that require balance as compared to the grouse grind with mostly stairs. Parts of the BCMC trail are fairly worn out. Much less crowded than the Grind and more enjoyable .

It was not moderate but really good fun. we did it counter clockwise and it is easy to miss the turnoff from the Elsay Lake trail. Lots of talus fields. On a day with a gazillion people hiking Seymour we didnt see anyone on the Elsay Lake and Elsay mountain trails. Due to time we didnt summit Elsay itself but still a nice challenging hike. Took us 6 hours including lots of breaks. I went with my 9 yr old but it was at his limit for a trail. super well marked so a big thanks to whoever taped and set up the hundreds of cairns. Recommend doing Mystery Lake at the start or end to limit the boring gravel ski roads. Four stars only because it is classified at moderate and should be hard in keeping with other ratings.

Even though it was misty/rainy the entire trek up, I think the mist made it quite beautiful.
I knew it was going to be a tough go, as I'd read lots of reviews on it.
I am a novice hiker, and while it wasn't a recommended hike for someone like me, I decided to try it anyways. Time wise, I looked at the "average" and estimated double for me. Looking at the elevation gain and distance, I knew I'd need more time, but I was bound and determined to do it. Had I not gotten a little lost near the top and wasted time looking around, I would have been under what I estimated, but as it turned out I was a bit over. For my first kick at it, it wasnt too bad.
I'll be making it an annual hike - will go out to Vancouver and will be a bit more prepared, physically, each time.

Great trail, not too steep anywhere. At the northern tip of this trail there's a suspension bridge. when we went in mid September, lots of bear warnings. This trail could easily be shortened. Water tap, washrooms and trail info near the car park.

Quick out and back with a great view from the rock. Always a bit busy but trail goers keep the trail clean.

Nice, flat trail. Lots of good viewpoints. I saw what I think was a lone heron near the water. A young deer caught me by surprise which made me turn back and not complete the loop. All in all, still a satisfying outing.

Fantastic trail. Not recommended for novices runners/hikers.

I’d say this trail is more moderate than easy. It would be easy for the fit seasoned hiker, so overall a more moderate-easy for the average joe. There are a large amount of stairs initially, then more nearer the middle and a ton near the end of the hike downwards which you then have to come up on your way back. The only downside is how heavily trafficked the trail is.

Hiked down after coming up the Grind. It is so beautiful and challenging in a fun way, requiring a level of concentration. It’s much less crowded than the Grind. Looking forward to going up another time!

My favourite solo hike

Easy and dog friendly

Hard hike. Short. Fun going up but no great scenery reward from that grind upwards.

An excellent hike for those who enjoy the challenges which Grouse Grind won't be able to provide. Not only challenging to go up, but it is also challenging to come back down. This hike will give you enough training on your agility, core, endurance, and patience. In addition to all the abovementioned, it also has one of the best views of the city.
Overall, Lynn Peak Hike makes Grouse Grind a little boy.

This was an easy-moderate hike. Lots of stairs but not too steep, with soft and mossy trails in between. The view at the end is worth the short hike (36 minutes one way on a very relaxed pace).

I really enjoyed this trail. So much nicer than the Grind. Same difficulty but less steps and more scrambling. It took me about 10 min longer than Grouse Grind took me last year. There’s less traffic, more choices and my short legs were happier because I could take smaller steps (just more of them). I will definitely be choosing this trail to the top of Grouse Mountain again.

rather quick hike . went super early to avoid foot traffic. was good but I expected it to be better due to hype of photos.
