Came in from Invermere and without many stops it took two of us an hour and 45 to reach the cabin. Easy to find the trailhead at KM marker 16 and the actual trail was well marked. Be prepared to hike in bear country. Highlight of our trip to Canada!

Long drive up the forest service road with great views along the way, then long, constant grade steep hike through the trees with occasional views — all totally worth it once you get into the larch zone. Views for the last 1/5 or so are spectacular. Took us about 2.5-3h up, stayed around the cabin for about 1.5h (go up the knoll behind cabin), then 2h down. Hiking poles are a good idea. We were a big group. (This whole region ought to be protected for future generations. Can hardly imagine the ecological damage wrought by the proposal for 10,000 person resort development...)

For my first Hike of the year. This was an absolute beauty of a journey to the top. The scenery was exquisite. A lot of varying terrain-an obstacles to
Maneuver over and through. I would highly recommend and will do again Forsure.

Do have a capable vehicle to get there though!!

An awesome, rugged and serene hike. My wife, Brittany Spaniel, Scarlett, and I managed to make it from trailhead to cabin door in just under two hours, but it was a grind in some sections.

Few notes to help out: 1) the dirt road from Panorama to the trailhead is difficult in spots and no place for a car (high clearance SUV recommended). Take it slow and avoid the dips as much as possible. 2) the first KM is littered with fallen trees and it can be easy to lose the trail scrambling over top. After this section, the trail is well flagged. 3) the trip down is no faster than the way up. Slippery rocks and fallen trees make footholds interesting. 4) expect to get a bit wet and muddy.

Once you’re at the top, you’re in for a treat. The views are worth it. A great way to spend a day (or night. Cabin is free for bookings).

Best bang for your buck hike around. Girlfriend and I powered up to the hut in around 2 hours, expect it to take longer though. Exquisite views if you make it up the steep hill behind the hut.

Need to go again as it was raining and most views were obscured except the Horseshoe Glacier. Hut is ok... moderate hike.

Great views when you get inside past the tree line you get a 360 view of all the mountains. It's a breath taking view. A must see!
